Great news. Just what he and we need. Strachan should have at least exercised some caution. A few ranking points or earning some displeasure from the parent club in what is a relatively meaningless friendly given that both teams are not in contention for next summer's festival in Brazil.
That's the nature of international football though isn't it? If we're to be successful we'll have players playing for their country and some of those players will get injured. Strachan is still early in to the job so will be picking the team he wants.
Shouldn't have played. Hasn't looked fit since the Barnsley game. Then again neither have most of them.
When he first got picked for Scotland, everyone seemed thrilled that a Watford player had got international recognition. But if you play football, you might get injured. And if you do football training, you also might get injured.
Clearly you don't remember when Gerry Armstrong, Kenny Jacket, Luther Blissett and John Barnes were all called up for full international duty. So far as I remember they were all fit for duty the next match.
I know nascot and given the importance I have attached to international football you could say rightly so that what I wrote is a bit hypocritical and selfish. On the other hand if he is not one hundred per cent despite what the medical staff have said both from us and the Scotland team then rest is surely better ?
I'm also hoping our central defenders will continue to play meaningless square passes to one another until they lose the ball.
Posted on the WO. Ikechi Anya played 51 minutes in Scotland’s 1-0 friendly win against Norway on Tuesday and was an unused substitute for the 0-0 draw with the USA. Should be ok for Saturday.
Seeing as he missed some of Scotland's training through injury then came off after only 50 mins and considering how cautious our medical team are I'd be surprised if he's even in the squad!
Since wales were allowed two teams USA complained, said it went against EU freedom of trade to not let them play in it. Just like how they can't limit our foreigners.
