Zonealarm is primarily a firewall product rather than anti-virus.

The best 2 free anti-virus products are Avast and AVG. personally I find AVG can slow a machine done (on some PC's) so usually use Avast.

When you've got the cash - get a Mac.

Never had a virus, and the sites I frequent, my computer should have contracted AIDS by now.

Used both Avast and AVG in the past. Avast is way better IMO.

Go download AVG anti virus and Comodo firewall.

They give the same amount of protection, are free, and don't clog up your computer with loads of crap.

    Another vote for avast here.

Norton is junk, once I unistalled it my PC ran so much faster. Also big corporate software is slow to react to new viruses. Avast updates at least once a day.

The best advice I can give is make backups. Get a removable or external hard disk and regularly copy your whole system hard disk (ghosting). There's good ghosting software out there that will do this for you.

    Lmao etc.

Maccatwo, as others have said if you are looking for a free program then go with avast, had that as my last anti-virus and never had any problems.

I'm currently using McAfee as it was free when we spent a hefty amount at a PC shop, wouldn't be my first choice but being free i wasn't complaining plus it's been trouble free so far and is very easy to use.
