But now I'm so glad Brendan moved on. If he really believes half the crap he comes out with, he must be the most deluded person on the planet. After a season of reaping the rewards of having maybe one of the world's top 3 players in his team, everything looks to be finally falling apart for the bloke. Gerrard appears to be suddenly showing his age, Balotelli is like a virus infecting the team and discontent is building on the Liverpool forums - only a matter of time before it spills out onto the terraces and we have a scenario similar to Newcastle's ugly "Pardew Out" campaign.. Over the next few weeks Liverpool have some tough/tricky fixtures that could see them pretty much out of the Champion's League and spiralling towards the relegation spots. Don't you just love it...
Reading away he got some serious grief from the travelling 'Orns. After that I was actually quite pleased for the bloke. He does talk some **** though.
Liverpool have been awful this season. Everytime I watch them I'm left bored to tears. They lack any ideas and just keep playing the same way every game, just hoping it will change. It looks like Rodgers has been found out and he has no plan b. A bit like Boothroyd and Zola at the end of their reigns with us. Having said that, he overachieved massivley last season and that's made it look much worse than it probably is.
I don't think it's losing Suarez alone that's been Liverpool's undoing this season - I think losing Sturridge to injury on top of that has been the issue
I've never been that impressed by Sturridge in an England shirt - he's certainly not the kind of quality that can drag a mediocre team along with him like Suarez was able to do. Plus the fact that he'll be injured more often than not. I reckon Liverpool will do well to finish in the top half with the current squad and Brendan will have done well to last the season. I think it's brilliant that Liverpool took all Southampton's players, but Southampton took their league position... I'm looking forward to Real Madrid handing out a nice spanking tonight - but is it too much to hope for a humiliating drubbing?
You can't lose two top draw strikers and expect to compete, I think he is a top manager and will succeed, what he did at Swansea and Liverpool was no fluke. He is struggling, there is rumours that liverpool fans are trying to get him out
I've no ill feeling towards potatoface. We got a nice compensation package when he left and arguably at the time a more able replacement.
I don't dislike him personally, it's just that I despise Liverpool - or rather the fuss made over them. So insignificant over the last quarter of a century (!!!) yet the coverage they get is completely disproportionate to the success of the club. It's a bit like the Leicester/Football League Show love affair, only on a much grander scale. I hate how people want the 'big clubs' to always be on top. Just let them die ffs and enjoy teams like Southampton having their time.
Care not a jot about rodgers or liverpool, but have got a tenner on liverpool to win at 12/1....2 horse race etc Yours Worst tipster in the world
Chelsea looked very comfortable towards the end of this latest Liverpool loss - simply strolled around knowing that Liverpool carried no threat. This after Liverpool's efforts against Real Madrid were described as 'plucky' in the press. They are now a mere three points above the likes of Hull, Stoke and Villa (having played a game more than some of these), and potentially 5 points off their must-achieve target of fourth place. The next four games will be critical for Rodgers. They are all against very average teams where Liverpool simply cannot afford to lose or draw. I can't help feeling that the vultures are circling...
Brendan will be alright. He's used to working with internationals. Top, top players. Did he ever tell you that?
