A good win today show how English tennis is on the up again. Good luck to the lad on Sunday, finally his tennis matches the huge charisma he brings to the game.

Will be tuned in on Sunday against Djokovic, COME ON!

Hmm. English Tennis on the up? You sure about that?

(However, I also hope he emerges victorious) - needs to cut the unforced errors though.

This is his best chance of a Grand Slam. I hope he does it. As a fairweather tennis fan I may tune in Sunday, what time is kickoff?

    Usually about 8:30ish...

It is a great chance but Djokovic is no mug as proven against Federer.

    berkshirehorn presumably I upset/disappointed someone

Murray did his best to lose it seemed. So many unforced errors - there weren't any indian bookies in melbourne were there?

Murray can't win, he hate's England etc etc etc.

    Bah. Fair play to him.

Best chance yet of winning a major.

Was it last year or the one before when he got to the final in Melbourne and got hammered? He'd played so well against Nadal in the semi - Nadal ended up retiring through injury though I think - but Murray was heading for an convincing win by then but just couldn't get into the final against Federer.

By the way, I hope he is over that childish nonsense of disliking England (and I say that as someone from Scotland). It's embarrassing. Otherwise, check out your nationality on your passport Andy. Like most of us on here, it'll say "British" citizen.

This Anti English thing is following him around like a soggy fart.

He's explained his tongue in cheek comments about 400 times.

I'm watching tomorrow and will be delighted if he wins. Along with our Ashes win, it will be a great event for British sport.

Win or lose, Andy has set a new benchmark for English tennis and in his 3rd slam final, he's already shown that he is a different class from average Henman. In any other era, he'd probably have won 2 or 3 slams already, but he's unfortunate to have been playing against probably two of the best players of all time.

Djokovic is no mug though and will be thinking that this is also his best chance to win a slam since is 2008 win. He might not get another chance like this either, so Andy will have his work cut out.

I do believe though that if Murray brings his game, he can be a better player than Djokovic.

In my opinion, his "explanation" was backtracking as he meant the comments at the time.

I really hope he wins. Im just hoping that the long semi final hasn't taken a lot out of him. This is his best chance to win a slam! Come on Murray!!

I find the irrational hatred of Murray quite humorous in all honesty.

4-6 0-5 as it stands. What a bottler.

Looks like being a total bottler unless there is some sort of miracle about to happen.

Isn't a "bottler" when somebody is in front and then throws that advantage away rather than simply being beaten by somebody better and actually in very good form though?

Just some non-tennis fans I am sure expected Murray to win easily as he isn;t playing Nadal or Federer?

In this case, I'd say it is where he has got himself into a terrific position in the tournament (the final) but again seems to stop doing the good things that got him there. And when things start to go wrong, he can't stop the slide.

To be fair, Murray is the outsider in this game.

Still hasn't done himself justice though.

Djokovic has been excellent and looks like being a very well deserved winner.

Djokovic played a great game. Murray didnt play as well as he can. Maybe the day rest that Djokovic had over Murray played a big part in it. Im sure he will win a slam! Hopefully soon!

True but you could say up till the semis Murray hadn't been tested that much which I know isn't his fault but sometimes beating lesser players with ease can give a false impression.

Clearly Murray is a decent player (better than Henman) but is mentally lacking when it really matters.

I am not sure getting into a stroppy mood helps really at is shows his oppolent that the bad shots are getting to him.

Murray often takes too long to get started. Towards the end of this match, he was actually starting to come much closer to matching Djokovic, but for the first set and a half, he basically was letting the Serb dictate without too much contest.

You're right. What is that all about?!

Murray is a complete bottlejob, whenever he gets the opportunity to claw himself back or take an advantage, he just double faults, or misses his first serve, or hits it into the net, or too long.

Physically his game is there, but mentally it's not and after that I don't think he'll ever win a grand slam. That was his best chance arguably, with Federer and Nadal already out.

I'm not sure. Nadal is going to be injured on a much more regular basis and eventually Federer is going to retire. Then Murray only needs Djokovic to go down injured and he's amongst the favourites to win!

Disappointing match. Just didn't really seem to get going at all until the very last few games. Murray can beat Federer on his day and should be able to push the other top players as well but he never seems to do it when needs must. AS said, it must be a mental thing as technically, he has all the attributes then suddenly the serve goes as he tightens up
