I don't think he wrote that all by himself.

Just went on Twitter especially, that was superb.

Happy with the signing, probably as good as we can do and it weakens Burnley though I hope it doesn't mean Troy is off

Fantastic business in this current mad transfer market. It combined with the Richarlison signing also makes us less vulnerable if a mega bid comes in for Deeney late in the window. If Deeney stays it's win win but it would not put us in peril of our EPL status if a desperate WBA or similar rock up with 25+ million at the end of August. Suggests that Gray can go straight in the squad for Saturday which is probably all credit to our old friend Dyche. Luving this window...!

We actually have some decent pace in our side now.

Gray, Richarlison, Success, Femenia, Amrabat (if he doesn't stop every 5 yards). Even Chalobah and Doucoure are pretty quick as well. At least this season our opponents will have something to think about. Unlike last season, teams knew they could attack us and not worry about being hit on the counter. This season will be totally different. Not saying we will play as nice as football as Bournemouth but hopefully it will be close and just as entertaining.

    Good signing.

    Needed a quick forward
will piss off them up the M1
    weakens Burnley
gets fans on board who were clamouring for a forward
    homegrown
good age and should be at his peak.

With Richarlieson I think our forward line has options and a lot more threat.

A welcome injection of pace into our team, which has been badly lacking.

Everybody should be entitled to a fresh start in life. He should be judged from this Saturday onwards here.

Didn't want to sign him up, but he's here now. Past aside, he's exactly what we need and if he has good chemistry with Deeney then it's gonna be a good season. Hopefully Gray will happily play as a very narrow inside forward.

Get Kieran Gibbs in and I'm very happy.

Seems bizarre that Burnley sold him to us after selling Keane also. Looking at their squad now they're surely destined for the championship? Sean Dyche is a great manager but if I was a Burnley fan I'd be very worried! Here's hoping they don't beat us away again COYH

He can jog the f**k off, and when he reaches there he can f**k off some more and keep f**king off until he arrives back at the start again and then he can f**k off some more

His initiation song better be 'what do you think of luton...' and involve burning a scum town football shirt

Just as Silva speaking Portuguese and Gomes being a readymade mentor for Richarlison was said to have contributed, do people think that already having one tattooed thug from the West Midlands was a draw to Andre?

Great thinly veiled insult/back handed complement hidden in Burnley's press release:

The Clarets gave Gray the chance to extend his stay at Turf Moor with the offer of a substantially improved new contract earlier this summer.

However, the former England C international made it clear he would not be looking to renew a deal which had just 12 months still to run.

Burnley therefore took the decision to accept an offer from Watford and move forward with their own plans going into the new Premier League season.

23 hours off but absolutely delighted with this one. Genuinely couldn't have made a better realistic signing up front.

We've been crying out for pace, the fact he's prem proven, english and it will piss off the scummers is the icing on the cake. Type of player with the raw ability to be really dangerous with the right service, I remember him absolutely taking us apart away at Brentford in our promotion season and thinking how badly i'd want a player like that.

If he can score 9 from 29 starts with those thugs hoofing it up to him then he will have a field day with Bobby, Rich, Chalobah and co. So much of our problems in the prem have come from our lack of pace, crap managerial appointments , our lack of british core and our creepingly high average age. Glad the Pozzo's have used this window to make this a proper premier league squad, and it means next year we'll only need 3-4 quality additions as the youngsters get better. Think we're still a couple short, but the huge problem of where the goals are going to come from has disappeared in a week.

The biggest thing is Marco and all the players we've signed this summer were actually wanted elsewhere, makes a pleasant change from the crap we've signed over the past couple of years.

You make the right point. Twitter ******s shouting £20m for 9 goals forget that he played for BURNLEY. He suffered as much as Troy did from a lack of decent service and goalscoring chances. I hope both of them get a better go at goal this year.

If it was any club other than the scum we would be saying what a good guy he seemed in helping and showing appreciation for the "little club" that set him on his way to stardom. As others have pointed out, there's no way he drafted this, but the fact that he has at the very least allowed his name to be used in this, is a good character reference, not a bad one.

Does this mean our transfer budget was about £40-50 mill?

    18 Gray
    13 Richard
    8 Hughes
    5 Chalobah
    8 Cleverly

    50 total

Which is a complete turn around from the normal circumstances. Normally anything to do with that place leads to a life of crime!

It's unlikely we're done yet. Silva said we need 5 or 6 more before we signed Richarlison and Gray. That leaves 3 or 4 more to come.

Vermahlen, Young and Gibbs by Friday and then I'll be letting Gino know I'm happy with his summers work .

It's that one guy that I've highlighted that makes me cream. Him linking up with Doucoure, Hughes, Richarlison, Gray and Deeney when he plays will be unbelievable
