An admirable performance

Its very easy to look at today as another two points thrown away - and in all honesty, that IS what it happened - but for the first time in a while we defended resolutely and passionately, and it took a fantastic/fantastically lucky strike to snatch the win from us. It was as good a defensive display as I've seen this season, I felt Ekstrand in particular was brilliant, the entire back line were solid and restricted Leics to perhaps one or two REAL chances.

    Plenty to be positive about.

Admirable performances do not win you points though. We were too wasteful with the ball in the last 10 mins, and shouldve stopped lumping it forward because it was just going back to their keeper. Sannino talks about sureing up our defence, but we sure do seem to concede a lot of goals still. In all honesty, we only just scraped through with a point as Nugent missed a sitter, and Pudil (I think?) made a great block to stop a tap in.
Up untill the last 10 - 20 mins we were very good though, just need to stop going utra defensive and not collapse.

    Yes probably.
Drawing away V Leicester is not our problem our problem is losing to crap sides at home and not being able to keep leads.
Most of us are frustrated the way this season has gone, we expected a lot and are getting fark all.

Why isn't this in the Leicester v Watford thread? Did you really think it was such an original post and so excellently argued that it deserved its own thread?

It was a very good result but we are in need of great results to get to the play offs. Lets not get too disheartened at throwing away 2 pts, They ve won their last 9.. if it wasn't for our prior slump that's a great point today...
    My only quips are
    1) Hall has turned in 2 performances I would consider on par with Man of the Match in his last 2 outings... He has been dropped the match after on both occasions.. are they not seeing it (or perhaps im wrong)
    2) each match we ve been 2-0 up on we ve gone on the defensive to protect it, Man City Forest, Leic and as soon as we change to formation we have conceded... Surely we ve learnt that our best defence is attack..

Build for next year boys We're gunna tear up this division lol

Take off an attack minded player for a defender/don't try and defend a lead. Damned if you do damned if you don't

For me a great performance, and far more positives than negatives

We've scored 2 goals under Sannino after the 65th minute of a match.

That either implies a side easily prone to tiredness, in which case we blame Zola for last pre-season, or a side with a 'try hold what you've got' attitude, in which case maybe questions should be asked of Sannino's tactics.

Under both Zola and Sannino we seem to constantly be producing 45 minute performances, but fail to be totally dominant the whole match (Millwall, apart).

If we can solve that conundrum, then the first half showings at the Etihad, the City Ground and today show us that there is definitely something there to build on.

    If!!

    Let's see...

    - An opening goal that was about 14 miles offside.

    - A decent 2nd goal after our defence had given your player roughly 300 square miles of glorious open space.

    - A 2nd half performance that had all the positive intent of White Dee heading to a job interview (what was that formation btw? 10-0-0?)

    - Endless dirty cheating tactics, players rolling around, time wasting. Euuurgh, it made me feel sick

    - And in the end you messed it up. Again.

That's "admirable" to you now, seriously? How the plucky minnows have fallen ey chaps.

I don't see why we should be unhappy with an away draw vs top of the league Leics, having endured a spell of games in which we have lost at home to both Yeovil and Sheff Wed...

Surprised there wasn't a pitch invasion, your fans seem to be celebrating getting a point against the magnificent hornets despite all saying you'd win easily.

First half we played quite well ( even with Cassetti in the back three )
Second half we parked the bus. We ain't good enough to do that. Bad half time team talk and tactics resulting in two points dropped.
Who's the clown who said their second was a lucky strike? FFS!

A great point on the road at Leicester!

Yes, we could have won. But we could also have been torn a new one!

Our recent performances are a great improvement on the relegation football that we have been serving up for the most of this season.

Yes, we threw away two goal advantages against Manchester City, Nottingham Forest, and now Leicester, but all three of these teams are head and shoulders above us at the moment in respect of cohesion, commitment, and application. There are promising things to be taken from all three matches, which considering the run we have been on is a welcome relief.

Say what you like about Sannino and his shortcomings, but he actually seems to have stopped the rot and turned things round to a certain degree. People calling for his head are a disgrace. He is doing what he was instructed to do, halting the stinking run we were on and stopping the rot.

In fact if we beat Birmingham on Tuesday, which I expect us to do, then it will be 7 points from our last possible 9.

    Bring it!

Seeing Lesta fans calling our players cheats makes me feel bad for taunting them in the build up to the game. After the football world saw one of their players take a clear dive last season, any Lesta fan coming onto an opposition forum and making a point about cheating must have serious issues. I apologise Moosebreath, I just didn't know. :-[

I think the Leicester joy was more relief than anything. Relief that their promotion push was still on before they play the more adept Nottingham Forest, bigger and older rivals than us.

Says more about them than us really.

It clearly meant something to the Foxes as shown by the Knockeart (bless) post match charge and gloating with the ears to the Watford fans corner. Laughed at you, fella. Pathetic.

Likewise the big brave Indian kids giving it large from the sanctuary of their stewards from 100yds. Does it mean so much?

Moose breath missed the three times in the second half the Lino gave Forestieri offside when he had both a player and Schmeical in front of him- bizarre.

Truly think the Lesta wanted a lot more than 2-2 before the game started so trying to find comfort in crowing about how we "parked the bus" conveniently overlooks how the only shot they had on target in the first half was their goal and how much chasing and defending they had to do in the first half too.

If FF had buried the breakaway, there'd be a lot less traffic on these forums today.

Foxes should be comforted that when they go up, their away Premier League tickets will be amongst the cheapest. Being a route 1 team. The new faces they'll need will be an exciting prospect too.

I'd rather Steve Guppy than Anthony Knockeart any day. He acted like a drugged Maradona yesterday and was very lucky to escape several yellow cards.

Knockeart's got form for not being able to handle a bit of stick.

What a pathetic, angry little child.

  21. I thought yesterday that we should take the time to learn songs to wind oppo players up in their own tongue

    par example:

Il va pleurir dans une minute
Il va pleurir dans une minute
    Pleurir dans une min-ute
Il va pleurir dans une minute

You clearly weren't at the game because the pitch can only be 100x130 Yards at most, and half of that length is onside.

Quite amusing that despite clear evidence to the contrary, they think Forestieri was offside.

They remind me of when we burst Ipswich's bubble a few years ago, bitter.

I feel better about the result all of a sudden.
