Went there for a weekend, when NFL Europe was still operating to see the Amsterdam Admirals vs Hamburg Sea Devils. The ArenA is quite a place, a little bit out of town but well worth a visit if Ajax are playing at home when you are over there.
Saw him on the way to the ground up market street, by himself. We then started with the obvious songs involving ****ie and his famous 30seconds in Amsterdam. :]]
had a great time in amsterdam. its probably the one place where blokes wont mind a bit of window shopping went into one bar near the red light bit and sat down - only to notice a watford top stuck to the ceiling couldnt tell you the name of the place though
Walking round the red light district is a surreal experience. Ended up in a bar, with a couple of colleagues. There were portraits of two ladies behind the bar. One chap said that she looked like Maggie thatcher, the barman told us that it was the last Queen of Amsterdam, we asked about the other portrait and that was of the current queen. We then looked round and realised that there were only blokes in the bar. Funny thing is, pretty much everyone there has a bush moustache so we didn't cotton on straight away.
the shmoke there is cheaper than it is here also i would highly recommend visiting a "coffee shop" even if you don't shmoke. the atmosphere is meant to be great and the coffee unbeatable!
The beer is about 5 euro's a pop, not particularly cheap. I don't 'shmoke', the type of people that do are boring sad sacks. I have been to Amsterdam, and the coffee shop's are full of stoned, boring, sad sacks. What you want to do is get yourself a bag of magic mushrooms and some hash cakes, and have a nice 'trip'!
you do realise hash cakes have almost exactly the same effect as shmoke? never been to 'dam myself, merely stating what i'd heard
