Don't recall any of our players having an official website before, but just found this site online and downloaded some pretty good Watford FC wallpaper from it - highly recommend! I've heard Abdi on Hornets Player doing interviews and he comes over as a very likeable, polite and intelligent guy - who is also obviously an extremely talented footballer, who I like very much. Mmmm. I'm sure the designers behind Abdi's website have obtained permission from the club to use the badge. You can't make your own Almen Abdi wallpaper for people to use.. but license holders can. I'm sure your comment was in jest but this is more for the benefit of others who may be up to das****ly WFC logo stealing deeds.
A bit in jest yes.. but i also thought it would highlight the issues concerning the club trying to put a stop to people using the club imagery. I mean how does it work here? This wallpaper looks suspiciously like the wallpaper that was avaliable from the official site until it was recently withdrawn (due to this copyright issue) If it is.. then surely the club dont want you to use it? If is isnt.. well it still has the official club badge. Having said all that is it ok to use as wallpaper if you dont publish it?
Of course it is. The wallpaper is being made available from an official website of a Pozzo registered and owned player, affiliated with a Pozzo owned team. I'm sure they wouldnt be too keen on it if it was an un-official website, but if they make it available for you to download and use then you would have to trust that have obtained the license to do that. They're not going to send an armed response unit to your house if you have WFC branded wallpaper from Almen Abdi's site.. they'd take the issue up with the website owners.
and you should take this up with the club.. its not me making an issue about copyright! Anyway.. personally i think they took the official club wallpaper and stuck Almemabdi.com over the top of it.. probably dont even know there is an is an issue. Wouldnt it be a bit odd if the club have removed it from their website but allow other to use it?
They didn't mind the "Twibbons" being used on Twitter (small badge in bottom corner) so obviously not all use of the badge is bad.
