Almen Abdi joins Sheff Wed

That wouldn't be a crime. AG has pace, a great engine, good vision and a hell of a shot. Loyal and committed, too. Gets carried away sometimes and can't see the eye of a needle pass like Almen, but might have more to offer all round at this point in their respective careers.

 

My enduring memory of Nando is pi55ing about with ball in the final minutes at Brighton. I appreciate Wednesday have been starved of players with the slightest whiff of technical ability but we are in a differnet stratosphere now, hence why Abdi is leaving.

Thank God our owners aren't as sentimental as some on here.

 

They are disappearing because they were essentially higher Championship level players. To survive in the Premier we need players of a higher caliber.

Vydra,FF,AA would of had much more of a impact than Jurado,Anya and Ighalo in the second half of the season if played in the right postions,Could all of had some part to play if given a chance but they were never given that chance when they all deserved it I guess we will never know they are pretty much gone now,But one thing is for sure they are all Watford legends what ever division people think they are good enough for.

 

The Vicarage Roadie lady who sits a few rows in front of me in the SEJ is going to be GUTTED, In fact I think it's his Mum.

 

I'm not gutted. I'll always have some great memories of Abdi, but selling him and keeping Berghuis is a sign we're looking at a higher calibre of player and moving forward as a club.

It's gonna be weird seeing him in a Wednesday shirt. Like seeing your ex girlfriend getting off with her new boyfriend. Even though you dumped her , you still miss her .

Although it might feel as if our promotion winning team is being broken up, even if AA does go, 8 of the starting line up at BRIGHTON that memorable day are still with us. (Though I suspect it could soon be 7 as Paredes looks like leaving too)

One of our starters that day was a temporary loan too (Connolly). Angella is the other departure.

One of the best and most effective players of the Pozzo era so far. A fantastic talent who can if fit still dominate in the championship. I have to back the move though, because it says we are ambitious to progress in calibre.

I think we'll see the best of Suarez post a full pre season, I think he's been judged too soon, and slotted into a team down on confidence when he joined in January. We have him, Capoue, Berhami and Watson to fill two DM roles, and then I think a new man to come in to compete with Success, Sinclair and Guedioura for the more advanced position.

I also think Vydra might just stay.

 

Why do you dislike Watford fans? Why are you being a ****? Just curious.

 

Like FF , Abdi will have his Watford shin pads on underneath his Wednesday socks.

 

I have to say, they've played a blinder in getting £4m for him. Nearly 30 and best years are behind him. I think it's a great deal for Watford, while Sheff Wed are getting a top Championship player and a very good pro. It's worked out well for both parties.

 

I suspect there may be a hefty promotion add-on in addition to the 4 million reported.

 

Don't dislike Watford fans mate, just banter, someone has a pop at Wednesday i'll have a pop back. If anything I love Watford for giving us players like Forestieri, Abdi and Pudil for peanuts in this market.

Also just to let you know we were close to signing Anya but you decided to keep him because he's a homegrown player. Might be back on the cards towards the end of the window. Also we are trying for Hoban on loan but you're reluctant to let go for similar reasons.
