All Teams Played The Same Number of Games

Throughout the season I've noticed that each week we've always played the same number of games as our rivals. It sometimes varies by a game over a day or four but no more than that. As of tonight, we've all played 35 games.

Partly at least I guess that's because there have been very few 'weather postponements' during this relatively mild winter and most (if not all) Prem and Championship clubs have some sort of under-soil heating facility. In fact, off the top of my head, I can't remember a single weather postponement.

But when some clubs have gone on a cup run they catch up with a midweek fixture immediately. That might be easier because it can be anticipated.

I don't know if there's been some sort of direction from the FL or whether it's just panned out that way. But, for whatever reason, imho, it's to be welcomed.

Much better than looking over your shoulder towards someone with a couple of games in hand or, conversely, imagining the points in the bag when you've got a couple of games in hand yourself. This way it's a level playing field week-in, week-out and we all know where we stand.

Hoping this continues to the end of the season. If the FL end up letting Norwich play 50 or 60 games we will find it hard to keep up!
