Amazing that he is still only 33 the last few years must have been a bit tough on him but still a legend for us in that promotion season.

Will always remember that Wembley day and his goal against Chelsea at home in the Premiership. Also the day that thug Desailly Hatcheted Mooney and got away with it.

Smart yes a Watford Legend and a great interview.

    Thanks Alan for the memories.

I remember the chelsea goal a being a bullet of a header wasn't it? just a week after beating the scouse at Anfield as well, I thought we were going to do well and then it went sour!

Well done UEA, correct, he bent it into the corner from the edge of the box after Nordin Wooter had set him up after a mazy run. I believe it was Wooter's debut. I was watching it all form the upper Rous with my prawn sandwich. And that was just days after Chelsea had gained a very creditable 0-0 draw at AC Milan. The headline on the front of the telegraph sport said "From heroes to zeroes" refering to Chelsea of course. I still have it tucked away somewhere.

Blimey old age must be getting at me, sure it was a header but no you are right, a blinding volley from the edge of the book. He must have scored a great header at another time;)

Ahhh, you're thinking of Mooney!!! That was home to Bradford, the week after THAT result at Anfield! Ahh good times. After that match i think we were 9th or something in the league after that result, albeit after 3 games :)
