Hi everyone, Well the first week has been and gone now and I have to say that I’m happy with what I’ve seen so far from the lads. I think most people would have taken four points out of six and a cup win, but we know from last year’s experiences that one swallow doesn’t make a summer – whatever one of those is. I was also pleased to have finally captured Grzegorz Rasiak on a loan to start with. Anyone who’s seen Grzegorz play will know that he’s a goal scorer and has been at each of his clubs. His partnership with Tommy at Derby is one that stands out and it’ll be interesting to see how they get on together here – I think Tommy’s happy to have been reunited with him at least! This weekend it’s a trip to the City Ground, one of those proper football grounds, and I’m looking forward to the game and hopefully getting another positive result. That’s not to say that we’re taking anything for granted though as Colin Calderwood has built a really neat little squad there, a mix of young players that have come through their Academy and one or two others such as Rob Earnshaw who know a thing or two about this league. Their home record last season was strong and after a good draw with Reading they’ll be keen to keep that going. I have to say I have been really pleased with your support so far this season and I’m sure we’ll be in for more of the same in Nottingham this weekend. For those of you going up there, have a good trip and we’ll look forward to seeing you and giving you something to cheer. After that it’ll be Darlington and a visit from Dave Penney, who has done really well up there, only just missing out on the play-offs. That’ll be another tight, entertaining game I’m sure, but one step at a time and let’s go and get that result at Forest first. Enjoy your Bank Holiday Come on!
So no mention of the Bamba deal not going through or of AJ being offered to CCC clubs by his manager.
I would have been suprised if he mentioned Johnson in there..IF he is available then I would assume we would try and free up some cash to get him, but the last thing I would want AB to do would be to mention it on a public newsletter!!
You're right of course - but it would still have been nice for Aidy to mention if there would be anymore ins and outs. Just me being impatient I know.
Take that back... immediately! It's not like I am setting deadlines and demanding 5 signings of proper calibre to push for promotion whilst shouting "where's the money gone Homer?"... :]]
