In direct retaliation to the other thread, here is a better one.

1. Keeping us up
2. Getting us promoted
3. Giving the Premiership a good crack
4. Not leaving when our canut fans start booing from the start of the season
5. Keeping Sir Lloyd of Doyley, even if he doesn't play
6. Having an amazing haircut

It's great to see his 'amazing hair-cut' and keeping Lloyd Doyley higher than an FA cup semi-final

 

Plus some top class signings in King, Foster, Johnson ect.

Aswell as bringing Young and Bouazza through the ranks.

 

Signings (well some ) have been great, King and Spring in our promotion season.

Getting us promoted.

Also giving the premier league a good go was fantastic, narrowly losing in the last minutes/seconds to Arsenal and Chelsea.

Spot on. When he was new and fresh it was great - all those 'Aidyisms', but recently he's (sadly) sounded deluded.

Apart from last season he has achieved a lot for us without a doubt...just hope he can turn it around or else it will all be for nothing except some forgotten happy memories. - if someone could bottle and sell how i felt after Cardiff they'd be richer than Bill Gates

 

But whose fault is that? I mean, whenever I hear him on 3CR or Watford World he sounds genuine in everything he says and you can hear the emotion in his voice after matches. Yet whenever his comments appear out of context in the Watford Observer or the national media they come across as pretty weird. I can't help but feel the way they're presented doesn't help.

I agree things are taken out of context, however (and when I was at uni i often had to listen to 3 counties on WW) I do feel that the content of what he says has changed. There is no doubting the passion he has for football, but as the season drew to a close i felt he was going through the motions (to some extent). Saying that Oxley never really asked probing questions but is still better than Duncan *shudder*

2 years ago he seemed a 'bit nasty' yet now he seems to have too much faith in players that aren't/weren't performing. To be honest though when i heard the interview after Hull next day I did think he sounded humble again and I think he might have learnt that being idealistic as a manager is not always possible...

I think the thing that bugged me this season about his post match interviews was when he'd say 'rest assured...' Anyway juut remembered this is meant to be about his successes, sorry!

lol no i admit we deserved to go down. But you have to admit if there was any justice we would have got 9/12 instead of 1/12 points last year - which may have stopped the post November depression.

And i do love aidy - because i think if we stayed with lewington we would be in league 1 by now. He gave the club another shot in the big time - causing us to be financially better by a long way - over 10 million for young and bouazza! In 2005 someone would have laughed at you if u said that.

Well it's true isn't it?

 

His successes outweigh his negatives significantly.

He deserves to be given another crack of the whip simply based on what he has achieved. This is coming from someone who has been critical of Aidy.

Last season was rubbish. It should be put to one side. Aidy should reflect on it, build and learn from his mistakes. He has been very naive which is understandable when taking into account he has been in management for only 3 years. Experienced managers have made far worse and costly mistakes.

There are signs that he is changing and adapting. He is transforming our style and for the first time he has admitted his mistakes.

 

Another twerp who somehow thinks there's grounds to have a go at Poom, he did NOTHING majorly wrong before he got injured and subsequently replaced and considering some of the clangers Lee's dropped Poom can count himself somewhat unfortunate to have been left on the sidelines for the rest of the season.

Good point. Lee has won me over in recent times but Poom has done nothing wrong. He was very good in our first few games - who remembers Cardiff away when he pulled off 2 or 3 WORLD CLASS saves?

 

We can debate which is the better keeper until the cows come home (and I think they've only just left and are planning a late one).

I've been critical of the signing of Poom, not because he's done something wrong, but because it has been an expensive and unneccessary one. We could just as well have loaned a young keeper as cover, or signed a champ back up. You can't turn around without bumping into a reasonable 'keeper in this day and age. For the wages spent, Poom has given us little (not his fault, granted) so we could have spent that money elsewhere. Lee has not been remarkable, but has equally, not been disasterous (if you remember Steve Cherry, Perry Digweed etc. you'll know what I mean).

In the long-term we may need to sign a better 'keeper, though in the medium term, Loach and in the long-term, Bo may solve that. For now, Lee is no. 1 and we need to build elsewhere.

Actually I have no issue with Mart Poom's ability BUT....

At the change time, Poom was trying to soldier on with a lingering back problem. I've tried to play through that- you can't.

Where would Lee's confidence and value be now if he had spent the whole of last season on the bench? He would have had three seasons in the reserves.

And yes, I saw a few 3pt mistakes by Richard after xmas but I felt much better at Colchester when he came on.

He has more of a future than Poom and I would wager he's cheaper too.

We should have got more loan players in.

 

Even I, championing Lee as I do, admit that Poom didn't do anything much wrong.

But by the same token, he didn't really do much right either.

Either way he will be sold this summer so it doesn't really make much difference.

And i wish fans will stop comparing our second premiership season to derbys. Like SIMON JORDAN.

Derby were completely shocking (even with a gd manager). Just because we finished bottom doesn't mean we were the same.

I would personally prefer a keeper who does nothing wrong over one that does a lot wrong on a regular basis!

Perhaps it should have read 'didn't do much wrong, but didn't do anything above average either'.

 

Well, by not playing much, he did little of either.

 

But the point is when he did play he didn't cost us any goals....

 

Thats just not true. poom was allways stuck to his line like glue what put the defence under more pressure, and we he had the ball he was even worse then lee at then getting it to one of are players. people have a nack of seeing what they want to see and not really looking close enough. in truth even if you dont like lee he over the season was are best defensive player and made the least mistakes of those 5 at the back.
