Lot of squad players at 27-29. I always thought the pozzo way was buy young sell at 22-23 for huge profit. Seems like our model of the pozzo way is stability from survival rather than player profit
Sinclair - 19 Success - 20 Kabasele - 25 Dja Djedje - 25 Doucoure - 23 Zuniga - 30 Penaranda - 19 Seems like last season we brought in older players with experience in top leagues, along with keeping a settled squad from the promotion season. This strategy clearly worked, now as we attempt to establish ourselves in the PL, we'll see more signings like Sinclair and Doucoure.
The TV money eclipses income from player sales, so not getting relegated is the number one priority. That's why they knocked back mega money deals for ighalo and Deeney. Are you thick, or just being obtuse? Or just wanting to take a dig at the pozzos for other, more sinister, reasons? I think we should be told.
That's why they have Udinese and the loan system for, there will be plenty of youngsters we will never see as they get loaned out all over Europe - I'm always amazed when I hear so and so is on loan from Udinese, or was sold from Udinese a year or two before. A Premier League club under pressure to survive is hardly the best place to develop a youngster. Also, the idea of buying young and selling big is a bit of a myth, obviously it does happen, but the Pozzo's make a fair chunk of their money through sell on fee's, additional clauses to transfer dealings, loan fee's etc. most of which, we'll never hear about.
