If we are to lose players like Danny Shittu and Hameur Bouazza for a crucial month starting mid January for the African Nations Cup....... should we not cash in on them now by selling them (if they want to go) and buying in some non-African quality?? Or sell 'em in the January window for the same reasons? Discuss
its not worth losing them forever over a few weeks' absense. we've got a contigency plan for when they leave in jackson and mcanuff
You think we should sell 2 of our best players and be withouth them forever, due to them being away a few months every few years?
No, I am asking your opinion as to whether it makes good business sense? I bet you Aidy has thought about it. If someone offers big bucks for Big Dan or Hameur, you know they might not be here to help with a vital promotion push, don't you take the cash and get in somebody who is guaranteed not to unsettle a (hopefully) winning team? I luv Boozer in particular, I think Shittu wants to go anyway... I'm just posing the question that GS, MA and AB must have considered.
only if the price is right would i sell those two. If the replacements are non african its only a minor plus in next season overall.
we have a big enough squad to lose these two and still keep on winning, its similar to losing a player through injury, someone will replace him and keep up his place. we have a good enough squad to afford to lose these two players although saying that i think shittu might go, but i dont think the fact that hes african will be much of an influence
Jose Mourinho was on this very subject in the News Of The World today, he said he won't be buying any more African players for this very reason. So Danny Shittu is not going to Chelsea- you hear it here first!
