There are certain parallels, but GT insisted on the highest moral standards it's possible to have in pro football, whereas St Eddie.....
Having played a and watched football for many years, that type of handball is given almost every single time if it is outside the box. I understand the 'accidental' bit, but you could have said that about Kabasele's handball against Everton - he wasn't intending to handle it, but his hand was not where it should have been. Ake's hands should not have been stuck out like that and because they are he blocks the ball from heading towards the goal. In that instance it doesn't matter if it's ball to hand.
Deeney in trouble with the FA. If he gets punished, expect him to be banned for a couple of games in 2020, if the speed of the Everton tapping up investigation is anything to go by. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/f...nts-FA-claiming-referee-bottled-decision.html
As explained on the previous page, if he gets a ban, it makes a mockery of the FA. Doing nothing against Austin for his much more brutally honest interview than Troy’s.
And he can claim Charlie Asutin got away with his rant after our game v Southampton. If any of our other players had said what Troy did then they'd no punishment,.
But then Austin has just received a ban for showing City fans a middle finger, something Deeney got away with when he did it to Chelsea fans when we beat them 4-1.
They certainly have, I wonder if it's do with the fact that our players don't know the best way to handle their antics!
Those of a nervous disposition look away now.....this is x-rated stuff. https://www.watfordfc.com/matches/highlights/highlights-afc-bournemouth-3-3-watford My god, how bad was the defending last night. How we only conceded 3 was a miracle, and Ben Foster of course. But that display at the back was totally unacceptable. Every diagonal cross into our box was won by a Bournemouth player. It was like we had no one in there at all. That was just utterly hopeless. In the second half we just rode our luck. Hopefully it was a one off, as I've not seen us play so badly in defence under Gracia as that. It was right up there with one of Silva's finest.
The FA are incompetents so they’ll ban him. They don’t understand the importance of consistency and just judge each case on a whim like amateurs. See their response to Salah’s blatant cheating against Newcastle.
I think Jimmy A has posted a thoughtful piece. But I think you're right about the cheating: I seem to remember that WFC were second in the 'fair play league' behind just Liverpool after their first season in the top division.
About 4 free headers in the first 2 goals and we were bamboozled for their 3rd by the double dummy .. Meanwhile ours were well taken..
The one thought to compensate, is that like Charlton and Curbishley, once Saint Eddie leaves the Muff divers, they will plummet to their rightful level.
I musy state that I am not one that really cares about Bournemouth, Luton are our rivals and always will be. I do genuinely think that if they were to get relegated they wouldn't come back up. The reason for this is because they have failed to think about their future and make developments off the pitch. They have recently pulled the plug on a new training groud and stadium. Now is the best time for them to get youngsters through the doors and grow their fanbase, however these new fans can't get tickets as their capacity is too small. I think Howe will leave soon if the right offer comes in he has taken Bournemouth as far as they can go. I am just glad that we are a more progressive club, on the pitch we are of a similar standard but off it we are well ahead of them.
Disgusting reprobates. The FA should be investigating why St.Eddie was continually making card gestures on the sidelines. No to mention the deliberate attempt to provoke our players or make it seem they have committed a serious offence in order to get them sent off. And then Brooks winning a free kick with minimal contact with Capoue. Gosling launching himself into space when contacting Cleverleys foot. Completely unnatural. Cook landing heavily and pretending to be seriously hurt with Deeney on a yellow. Right as rain seconds later. Gosling trying to insinuate Capoue had hit him in the face when he was holding him off. Shameful behaviour. We should have buried them last night. Once again the number of times the ball was given away in or into midfield by the ball carrier was appalling allowing them to attack in transition. Deulofeu was very poor when it mattered. Poor passes on the counter to Deeney and Pereyra anf then a blind pass to Cleverley which resulted in the ball being given away and nearly resulting in a goal. We have to decide if we play the ball long or pass it through. Positives was Sema getting a goal and confidence and Cleverley gaining more match fitness. A very useful option on the bench. As for the referee he gave them most things screwed up the main decision at the end which is a clear penalty although he did avoid giving a red card despite the theatrics of the cheats. Gracia needs to be given funds to find a centreback. Mariappa to his credit and he is Watford through and through did make two very good challenges in the second half but his distribution and positioning is undermining the rest of the back four. Gracia I think should have also resorted to a midfield three by moving Deulofeu and Pereyra out wide leaving Deeney upfront and bringing on Quina whose energy and skill might have sparked the midfield allowed Capoue to drop deep abd shield the defence and give Doucoure more license to support an isolated Deeney. Instead he persisted with the midfield two being over run continually or dragged out wide. MOTD was putrid in it's coverage. No mention of the Bournemouth play acting and the penalty was air brushed out. Saint Eddie can do no wrong. Fear not in a season or so with VAR coming in they will be back to where they belong and trips to Exeter and Doncaster.
Hope not. If Deeney thinks he's getting waffles every time he steps out of line he'll run his mouth off at every opportunity.
Not sure what he has to explain really, ref clearly bottled many decisions (including sending off Doucoure and possibly Capoue for a 2nd yellow so it’s not like I’m biased). I understand having respect for officials but he really didn’t keep control of the game well enough so criticism is reasonable, prem ref is a professional and paid job after all. There was a point about 40 mins when you could see on the refs face that he knew he had no control and just wanted it all to end.
I looked up Bournemouth fc cheating to see if it was just watford fans that didn’t like Bournemouth this was 3rd on the list https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/7154362/married-premier-league-ace-cheating-human-sex-doll-claims/
Considering he's posted the same comment on his 'blog', I assume the comparison comes from the desperate need for attention.
I'm not sure if hate you due to he lurid details and pictures. I think its fair to say she isn't a natural beauty (well, she might have been if she held back from all the surgery) But... there were some classic details in there... (1) a £150-a-night room - said in a way it was expensive ?!? Living in London for me that's a cheap hotel for me and the missus! (2) Far better... she had to make him hold on as she waiting for an Asda delivery! She obviously doesn't realise you can get Morrison's through Amazon now...missed opportunity
So i miss the first half cause i have to go for a MRI. Not great timing but still enjoy the second half. First class entertainment i thought. But.. having read some comments in the shoutbox (gotta stop doing that) and reading the post match thoughts of our followers, well you'd think we were the most hard done by football club of all time. That is until i read some comments on the AFCB forum and it seems they are the most hard done by football club of all time! I'm beginning to wonder if football fans are losing the ability of simply enjoying a game of football.
Nope. Luckily had an away ticket this time. I was still going bananas after our third when they stuck their third in... joy to head shaking in moments!
I still think the ref did fine overall and didn’t fall for much of Bournemouth’s antics. I think it’s poor form from Deeney with a new referee.
Poor chap, will spend the rest of his days very close to the ground and with an enormous yellow arrow near his head. May yet replace Roger Moore for comedy eyebrows though? She must constitute a very high fire risk!
Yeah , 25 man squad cost approx 100 mill. Fulham and Brighton spent that in one transfer window this summer . Current Watford squad ... - 5th lowest wage bill in EPL - 2nd smallest ground in EPL - one of lowest transfer expenditures in EPL Yet we have - a team that is top half of the table , challenging for best of rest 7th - a team that has good proportion of British players in squad - play exciting attractive football. By what do we hear from the football media? The same old lazy , ill informed rubbish about sacking 1000 managers in the past 5 minutes .
