http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/teams/c/charlton_athletic/6676699.stm Quick out of the blocks. Wish Aidy was like that - I hate the wait.
Don't worry, Aidy is busy trying to find the real Steve Kabba, rather than that lazy bloke who pretended he was a striker.
Well he won't be able to use his 'the other promoted/relegated teams had longer to prepare than us' excuse this time around
Theses two are probs two of the best in the championship as far as Iwelumo look at his goals and varney has always looked exciting when ive seen him. If it was us making these signing id be over the moon. Looks to me like charlton are going to be quality next season.
I'd assume they've just agreed the deals and its all done and dusted, however the players won't have their registrations changing hands until the deadline has been lifted.
Quite the opposite, Aidy has made it clear in interviews that he sees are early relegation as a positive when it comes to planning for next season and approaching players.
But there is nothing to prevent clubs from having agreements in place, just like Bayern and United over Hargreaves.
I've never seen either of them play, nor heard anyone on here even suggest we try and sign either of them. Have we missed out?
If we’d signed them I’d have been happy enough, but I don’t feel we’ve missed out by not signing them. I’m confident Aidy will get us the right players in the right positions
Totally agree with this. It is obvious Charlton will let Darren Bent go and are hoping for a big fee as they already spent this seasons transfer budget last year. Varney is a good young player, not another Dean Ashton though, and Iwelumois a player who has had a good season but has hardly set the world allight before in spells at Stoke etc and at the age of 28 has most likely reached his peak
Iwelumo is a good striker, much much better than Kabba and Hoskins anyway. Getting him on free transfer is a nice deal for Charlton.
