AT: "Great first day on loan at Brentford, really enjoyed it. Now the long train journey back home then watching Spurs v Hearts tonight." - just saw this, mixed feelings but now ****o is here we have Lloyd & Hodson on the right, Dyche obviously feels he's 3rd choice but I thought this season Adam was not just back up but solid competition for starting rb after his great start last year.. Remeber in particular at Reading he was brilliant, but if he wasn't going to get games it's a good move for all.
I agree I personaly think that he should be playing but will do him good to go and get some regular first team football
Good move for Thompson. Hopefully he'll get some games under his belt and come back ready to compete for a place in the first team. http://www.watfordfc.com/page/NewsDetail/0,,10400~2431809,00.html "WATFORD youngster Adam Thompson has today (Thursday) moved on loan to League One side Brentford on an initial one-month deal. The home-grown defender made an immediate impact when he appeared for the Hornets' first-team last season as he made 11 appearances, scoring one goal. The 18-year-old had a season to recall in 2010/11 as he signed his first pro contract and made his international debut for Northern Ireland, alongside gaining valuable experience at npower Championship level with the Hornets. Brentford have enjoyed a positive start to the season under the stewardship of manager Uwe Rosler. The Bees are currently in fourth position after demolishing London rivals Leyton Orient last weekend."
Sorry but some peoples English on here is terrible. Is it not sell? You are making it very hard for us utlendinger.
Don't you know. We've got a terrific education system . Or so the political classes would have us believe anyway. Thommo ought to stay.He and Hodson should be getting regular first team football to develop at this stage. I would prefer that he was in the side as of now but when he comes back from his loan I hope he can force his way into contention. I do not like the idea of seeing promising Academicians being left out in the cold like this when they were coming along nicely last season.
Thompson was great, yes, but going on loan is beneficial anyway. He'll learn from different coaches, he'll learn from different partnerships, and you'd assume he'll be getting 90 minutes a week. Don't forget he was plunged into the side out of necessity, and while he looks like the next best thing from the outside maybe he was simply riding a wave of adrenaline?
well , to be fair , us and brentford will probably be swopping leagues next season , so this is probably a loan with a view to a permanent transfer
Sorry, I didn't know. There's a backhanded compliment for you. Shows how your written English is good enough to convince me you're a native. Where you from?
I was in the mk end tonight with my mate and it was a quality header arriving late at the back post with a low header and also he shut out powell and o'shea through the match. He looked good enough to play for us when doyly is injured and also i had a good chat with richard lee tonight before the match so i was happy and he is still a great guy.
http://www.hounslowchronicle.co.uk/...d-defender-set-for-bees-stay-109642-29417251/ BRENTFORD are set to extend the loan of Watford defender Adam Thompson by another month. The Northern Irish international has made four starts for the Bees since his switch to Griffin Park, and told the Chronicle this week that he was keen to stay in West London. And with first-choice right-back Shaleum Logan still sidelined, boss Uwe Rosler has opted to keep the Hornets youngster at the club for another month. He said: “Shay is doing rehab with the physio and is not even close. We are extending the loan deal of Adam Thompson for another month. He's done very well for us.”
In case anyone was wondering, Adam only wants to stay with them on loan, he does not mean permanently
Nice to see one of our players go out on loan to a decent club and actually do well. Getting games at a decent level will only help his development. If he's not there for the season, i'm expecting him to come back and really challenge for a starting spot in the second half of the season.
I think he is our best right back so should be pushing for a starting spot when he returns. He is the only player we currently have out on loan who is playing 90mins, none of the others have made a full game yet.
I am not 100% sure on this, but I believe that Bond is currently 1st choice keeper where he is on loan and getting 90 minutes as well.
I knew someone would bring that up. You are correct, I was referring to all of the others playing in the football league, i.e. Div 1 & Div 2
Leave him there for the season so when he hits his inevitable **** patch it will be in a Brentford shirt rather than ours, and then when he comes back he will be able to really push to be first choice right back.
Indeed - he won't get a look in at the vic with Doyley owning the position and Hodson there to cover. You could argue that Hodson could be sent out on loan too with a recall as he is never on the bench anyway. Thompson getting a season's worth of valuable experience will be worth loads to us with next season in view. But for now - leave him there as he is doing well and enjoying his football.
Anyone else watching the Brentford Charlton game? He looks solid, good at defending-good at attacking. Shame he's unlikely to get a game this season unless lloyd gets injured.
