Despite looking about a foot shorter than Llorente & half his weight, he kept him quiet all afternoon. Impressive.

He was playing it safe with players he knows & trusts. I think most managers can be guilty of this at times. Doucs does look exceptionally good though.

I'm not suggesting that he should have played the guy every game for 90 minutes from the off, but we were seriously struggling in midfield. He had already played well at Granada for half a season in a similar role as he is now. It was clear from his appearances there, that he was a good performer and could be trusted. Several of us said as much months ago. He should have introduced him far sooner.

Whatever his reasons, it was a serious error of judgement, IMO.

A good manager picks his team on what he sees in training and if you had actually watched the sessions your point might be valid ... but you didn't and it isn't.

"Serious error of judgement"? ... talk about after the Lord Mayor's show!

If you have to be personally involved with training to make a valid comment, we might as well all give up and go home.

Certainly not after the Lords Mayor show. I first raised the issue in the autumn and spoke about how good he had looked for Granada and how disappointed I was that he was not a regular. Check back if you want.

If you only commented on matters where you had been an actual witness, Godfather, then I doubt if you would actually end up saying anything. Neither would anyone else. For example, you've just explained to us how the North Korean thread how the North Koreans arm their rockets at the moment, FFS!

Fitness issues, unwillingness to absorb new tactics, family problems, unsettlement caused by uprooting, language problems ... there could be a hundred reasons why he wasn't initially selected but you want to hang it all on Mazzari ... Sorry but football doesn't work like that, 'If you can't pass a beep test you don't play' has always been rule number 1.

BTW I think it was 1945 they used the change in atmospheric pressure to detonate the Hiroshima and Nagasaki A bombs so it's blindingly obvious things have moved on from the old percussion caps of yore.

Typical Godfather, you suggest my opinion isn't valid because I havn't witnessed things, yet you put forward several reasons for leaving Doucoure out, that you havn't witnessed either.

    I repeat, typical Godfather.

Really mate, this is a discussion forum where we all discuss things that we havn't witnessed. I said my comments on Walter and Doucoure was an opinion and it is just as valid as yours, even if you are an expert on North Korea's ballistic weapons program.

Clearly, what ever the reasons for leaving Doucoure out so long, then dropping him so quickly in January, was a mistake.

Next season, Doccoure and Cleverley to tackle and retrieve the ball, pass it on to Pereyra who then does something magical with it.

    My vision for next season.

Which bit of "there could be a hundred reasons why he wasn't initially selected" did you not understand?
