Realistically, very very little happens before July 1st. Most football contracts run out at the end of June, most teams return for training etc from Monday onwards. It’s really no surprise at all that there’s little to no movement with transfers.

Aaron Mooy is as an excellent footballer who according to some local reports doesn't want to leave Huddersfield. Without any doubt he's our most gifted player and personally I hope he stays. If he goes fair enough but with clubs buzzing round all our better players perhaps we need a complete change. Once David Wagner departed I expected radical changes this Summer in any case. Our current manager apparently prefers to work with younger players so perhaps Aaron will leave. West Ham are believed to be sniffing round him too so you might have some competition if he decides to move.

 

We'll probably offer him 6 quid a week and a packet of jaffa cakes so no doubt he'll end up somewhere else and we'll have to resort to Plan E which is get someone on loan from Udinese.

It’s not the lack of transfers so much as the lack of ludicrous links that bothers me.

Some may see the transfer window as an opportunity to strengthen the team, but for me its primary function is entertainment.

I quite like it that there has been little talk about our best players moving on. We should start to hear more from tomorrow about ins and outs. Sounds like we have been looking at a pacy winger/ striker, a midfielder and possibly another younger CB. With Gomes signing I'd be surprised if another keeper will sign and no noise about full-backs. The latter are now seriously expensive. Still think Prodl, Okaka and Success likely to move on, the latter possibly on loan. Also, the home/ away shirts have to be announced soon, plus our last pre-season game so much to look forward to.

 

I think his best season was when Udders got promoted (& he was on loan from Citeh).

He does not have the legs to play in a midfield two.

 

I’d be delighted if we can move out Okaka and Prodl. It’s going to be hard though as they are poor players with years remaining on contracts at decent wage. Loans may be the best we can hope for.

 

I imagine it depends on if Chalobah is going to be fit again or if he is a write-off. Been out for two seasons now so surely it is make or break time.
