With Aaron Lennon reported to be on Chelski's shopping list as SWP hasnt made the grade what do you think our chances are of a season long loan of SWP? I would think wages might be an issue but this may be a good alternative to getting another striker in. Ash could then play up front.
Would be nice, but i cant see it... i think it is more likely they will want to sell SWP to get the money for Lennon, thats if they get Lennon. I have heard from a reliable source that Chelski are over stretched financially and that things are getting a bit tight, wage budget being what it is and the max gates they can get as limited as they are. That is not to say they are struggling, but the wages will start to become an issue especially as their performances are such as they are of present. The chances of them keeping "deadwood" and bringing in more "deadwood" is a bit slim i would say.
think they really need to look at their ground. If they can charge £48 a ticket and still have problems fitting everyone in, then they need a greater capacity.
That has been an issue there for a while, they have the old Arsenal problem whereby they cant get permission to increase the size as is, I understand they are planning a new stadium also.
Chelsea have made Tottenham and England winger Aaron Lennon their top target and could make a bid for him in the January transfer window - offering cash and Shaun Wright-Phillips in exchange. (Various) Excerpt taken from saturdays gossip!
I think Spurs will fight tooth and nail to keep him. They're slowly trying to build a team worthy of challenging for the league, they don't want to get rid of one of their brightest prospects even if Chelsea offer a lot.
Name is GWP not SWP.... The name is not SWP it is GWP (Greedy Wright Phillips). The boy got what he deserved. Everybody said he would be stuck on the bench and it would screw up his world cup plans if he moved to Chelski. Manchester City wanted him to stay and he was already on decent wages and playing for England. Therefore I am pleased that money grabbing players as per Greedy Wright Phillips come a cropper. Any player playing for the Golden Boys needs to be 100% committed. Otherwise we get another Charlie Miller type who likes the money but doesn't give the team and supporters value for money. No Thank You....
I think he was one of these players who felt that going to chelski was a good move and that he felt he had it in him to fight for a place in the chelsea squad giving him more of a chance of getting taken seriously for an england role. At Man City it was obvious he was a good player but seeing as he was surrounded by mediocre players it was easy for him to shine, if on the other hand he had shone at chelsea then he would almost certainly have commanded a place in the starting 11 for england. The old story of the big 4 having all the power.
