    About slow starts.
In Serie A 2009/10 Udinese arrived 15th, safe from relegation at May (although with Di Natale best striker)

Guidolin was hired as new manager (he was already our manager 12 years before).

Beginning of Serie A 2010/11, while Guidolin tried several modules and was struggling to mold the team:
    Udinese-Genoa 0-1
    Inter-Udinese 2-1
    Udinese-Juventus 0-4
    Bologna-Udinese 2-1
    Sampdoria-Udinese 0-0.
Just 1 point and last position after 5 matches!

It takes time to mold a team, especially when you want to try to play a good football and not just "catenaccio".

For history, as you probably know, we finished that season in 4th place.

Be patient! Results will arrive and international break comes at a good time.
Moreover, until now only a minority of your new players have played, and not even so many minutes except for Abdi and Vydra.

Sensible post as there's bound to be some sh!te flying around (Pozzos out, Zola out!!!)

Not a game i was expecting much from TBH. A draw at best. We are not going to win every game 4-0, real life doesn't work like that!

I guess we pick ourselves up & dust ourselves down and get on with it :)

    We are the ORNS :badge:

Absoluely and we can all learn a bit of humility too.

We've still got 6 from 12 so not the end of the world.

Yes its disappointing to let 5 in but better to do that now and hopefully learn from it than at a more important stage of the season.

I would have thought that all the season was important.

Tell that to Reading who stormed the second half of last season.

The January window I can live with despite what happened with Sordell, but why can't the summer one take place in June and July? Okay, we would have been totally ****ed if that had happened this year, but in general it makes a lot more sense.

Is losing to juve and inter similar to getting thumped at derby?

Nobody gets promoted in August/September. We all agree that yesterday was a bit of a shocker but hopefully they will learn from this and after the break everybody will be fit and up for the fight. Roughly this time last year Arsenal lost 8-2 but they finished third. Sherlock makes a good point about how they started but still finished 4th so let's not panic just yet. We have more points than this time last year and I'm sure in two months we'll all be wondering what the fuss was about.

Losing at Milan with the Inter fresh winner of "triplete": obsiously acceptable.
Much less acceptable being thrashed at home 0-4 by a far from wonderful Juventus (which arrived 7th in that season and in the previous one).
And our other opponents were all average.

So believe, it really was quite a disastrous start!
