A great win by the sounds of it today. Strange how we've always done well against this Reading setup - that's 4 successive league clean sheets against them and the Madjeski is no easy place to go. Oh and we've beaten our previous points total of 24 and a win against the Mugpies will send us to the heady heights of 30pts.

In other news we face a trip to Brizzle next year after City got promoted, while Blackpool jumped Forest into 3rd place to give them the plum 3rd v 6th tie in the play offs. Could be a couple of decent trips coming up there.

In the Prem it appears Wet Spam are out of trouble which is disappointing. That said I have a particular dislike of Dave Whelan so if Wigan go down I might laugh all summer while he blusters and moans as expected. Charlton really need to win on Monday need to stand any chance of dragging others into the mire.

Friend who was there rang me after the game. Said it was a tale of 2 halves. Apparently Big Danny was so far offside all the Reading players stopped, and the keeper dropped the ball for Marlon to head home.

All our luck coming a little too late :dismay:

Aidy on 3CR: We out-Reading'd Reading. Lots of guts and integrity from the players and he's very pleased with them. Avinel had a torrid time but there's no point signing players and having them cluttering up the building, you have to find out if they can play. He made lots of mistakes but showed good character and will keep coming back for more. Rinaldi's nose wouldn't stop bleeding and couldn't risk staying down to 10 men indefinitely - wanted to rest Mahon but it wasn't to be today. First goal was a training routine based on looking at how Reading defend free kicks. Delighted to have King back on the scoresheet and good to see him celebrating with the physios who are unsung heros. Foster has not been at his best a couple of times in the last month but has shown excellent form today - he keeps pestering Aidy to play him up front in his final match next week but AB can't see it happening. Said how proud of the fans singing "We're going down but we don't give up", cos it sums up this club.

BBC Sport and 3CR have both confirmed he was onside, thanks to Duberry being too slow out.

Im very pleased for the players and AB,great result today and so pleased also for Marlon.
This will hopefully build up some momentum for next season, and Im certain we will bounce back next season.

    Well done lads.

Sorry to put a negative twist on a great result, but with a win like this, one can't help having the "what if" feeling about how things might have been if we'd turned up for some of those matches which we let slip without a fight. It still might not have been enough, I know, but still, what if?

Let's hope we come up with another win and score a respectable 30 points for the season.

I think I agree with that as well moog. We failed to show up in any of the 'must win' matches this season and that is ultimately what cost us. We'd probably be looking at needing another 13pts however and I'm not sure where they all would have come from. Charlton/Sheff Utd/Fulham/Wigan at home would have offered us another 9pts if all had been won from reasonable positions so I guess that's a start...

Good news on the result. Williamson is involved for the first goal so he may be near the team on Sunday.

It is indeed, almost more important as the result as he can now go into pre season knowing that he can still score goals at a high level.

Great to see Marlon score and Shittu also.

Shame the young French lad had a difficult 1st game but he will learn.

Sounds like Foster saved us a few time but we need some luck...not that is was important.

Just seen the goals again, Shittu was at least a yard onside. the second goal was just a complete **** up by their goal keeper.

game of two halves alright. we were strangely quiet and subdued for most of the first half. small bunch of fans concentrating on singing at the reading fans. but second half completely different. good atmosphere, not great but seeing danny's goal go in right in front of us was priceless. he seemed a mile offside at the time. cant wait for motd now.

Would be a great laugh is if Fossie had a shot at forward for our final game. A gift from Watford to him as he fecks off to the ManUre bench for a few seasons.

Foster was outstanding yesterday, we won, King of Vicarage Road Scored, and Shittu was onside.

And thanks to the pink man, reminds me of Millwall a few years back.
