I was doing a bit of researching about atmosphere at football games. When I stumbled across this. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Back_to_the_Shed_campaign Initiative bought forward by a Chelsea fan believe to bring atmosphere to Stamford bridge. Now surely if we could get something like this rolling it could only do good for the club? Anybody liking the idea?
If we put around 15 in the lower rous and 15 in the Vic end, i'm sure it would make a better atmosphere, will never happen though as said above.
We already try getting a atmosphere going up the back of the rookery anyway, but the stewards just **** it al
Nothing of that scale I understand but maybe if we contact the club? Pre Match and Half time announcements to tell the fans to really get behind the team. I they are willing. Like the Back to the Shed one, only one match could change it all. Maybe get down some of the Saracens drummers for a match? Sing for virtually the whole match in groups? spread over the ground? :]] :]] :]] I'm down with the cheerleaders too.

Atmosphere Hi Good idea more singing and BRING BACK THE DRUMMERS! Bring it on -lets get behind the team!
We'd need volountery cheerleaders with the current financial state at the club. :dismay: Anybody here going to the Ipswich Town match? I got a good feeling about it.
The one on the right looks like Dave Grohl in one of his characteristic, cross dressing videos. I still would though.
Sadly not But maybe we could try this game and I mean sing so hard were gonna need bottles of water so we don't dehydrate.
Do anyway at the back of the rookery, its the livley old fellows in the rous and upper rous you want to talk to about actually get behind the team.
Parts of the lower rous join in some songs, sometimes. A lot of the time they complain about a throw in taker moving forward 1 yard, or just scream at Priskin. Last game I stood up when Priskin was put through and fouled, then we all cheered when the red card was shown, but this prawn sandwich eating mongy scarfwearering wining woman taps me on the shoulder and says dont stand up again, i cant see. It drives me fkuking crazy the fact that they dont want to stand up, or cant be bothered, I'm not saying i really love standing up or anything, but when there is a chance I tend to do it and then get shouted at by people behind. People who expect to have a good atmosphere at home aren't going to get one, especially with the fans we've got, face it. Rant over lol.
Lets try making the Rookery lively then. F*** the rous we'll just show them what they're missing out on.
I think there is merit in this and I think that, approached in the right way, the club might be supportive. But, no matter what the rights and wrongs, if the request includes diatribes against the stewards and a demand to be allowed to stand, then it will go nowhere. With liability concerns these days, the club is always going to take the "safe" option, i.e. no standing. I agree that liability concerns and the whole "nanny" attitude are way overstated but nevertheless the club will never expose themselves to any perceived "risk", no matter how small that risk may be in reality.
I mean honestly whats a few blokes at the back stood up? I'm not saying request to stand up but request lets say at the Ipswich Town match, being it a family day and all. To put something over the tanoid at pre-match and half time just telling them to get behind the team properly.
sit down, i cant ****ing see, my sandwhiches are drying out and my tea is getting cold BOOOOOO! THROYD OUT
JIE we all want a good atmosphere, but how is this thread going to make everyone in the Vic loud, how is it going to get a message on a tannoy, more to the point as much as you try it's not gonna work.
What *******s do they say at half time anyways? We'll be giving them something to talk about. If someone said I can't see, provided they weren't fragile, old or disabled I'd tell them to get up off their fat arse for once. OK I've got to work out how to get the message to the clubs directors or whoever sorts out the half time *******s.
Oi, I sit in the LR... Didn't WFC try a "singing section" a few seasons back that totally failed? Without pointing out the obvious, WFC has always marketed itself as a family club and I imagine we have a higher percentage of young kids with mums/dads when compared to some other clubs. These are not the people that generate an atmosphere. Rewind to the semi of the play offs at Birmingham where 100% of their support was made up of 16-45 year old geezers and you will understand why the atmosphere was electric
Not necessarily so. Since 2020 have taken over at LooTown the stewards have 'magically' avoided hassling the 'good people' of F & G blocks (their 'lively' section) - standing is now the norm, and - I'm told - the 'old style' atmosphere is returning to said ground. Amazing how the attitude of the Police/stewards has changed since the Migs ...... ahem, I mean the fans ..... got rid of the 'businessmen', and took their club back from those 'men in grey suits'!
Move the games to the moon, much better atmosphere! (cant believe im the first person to make this point lol)
