the video shows the formula 1 drivers who lost their lives during a race a very spectacular, sad and emotional video http://www.myvideo.de/watch/1246364
Gee, that was pretty harrowing! All those old cars that just blew up and caught fire. There wasn't much the marshalls could do back in those days as the fuel tanks were so shyte.
it's a bit sad that nowadays the most entertaining part of formula 1, the crashes, were dreaded in those days. in that tribute even a tailspin resulted in death, and the one last weekend would have probably have been fatal.
Simple solution dont race ridiculous cars around a race track no sympathy for them what so ever other than the mandatory sympathy that caomes with death. The real people that deserve the emotional video are those that are killed for no fault of there own on the roads due to drink driving or other fools.
if any of you feel that this is too harsh tell me and i'll edit it immediately: did the drivers of yesteryear have some sort of HANS-free system? in fact, it's not even a very good joke is it? my apologies
i think he means no sympathy for the people who raced around a trach at 180mph in cars with little safety devices. obviously there is hardly any risk in football, so anyone who dies there, such as marc vivien foe, has not put his life at risk simpy by walking onto the pitch
this is another moving video with the messages at the end. Wow thats bad! the last crash, if he survived that its a miracle.
They died doing something they love, I fail to see how that means they don't deserve sympathy. Surely the fact that they knew the safety devices were poor yet still strove to entertain and achieve makes them worthy for sympathy?
What about Richard Hammond, he was nearly brain dead after trying to entertain the nation, does he not deserve sympathy for doing a job he loves which people like to watch?
Those that lost their life racing were entertaining people so they definately deserve sympathy. It is over 10 years now I believe since Senna and Ratzenburger lost their lives at Imola. The safety aspect has improved drastically since then
i don't think these blokes don't deserve sympathy, i was just trying to correct what i thought was a misunderstanding, although now i see what you were saying
Sorry but you're talking absolute bull there. If there weren't people in this world that took risks and had a dare devil spirit then we won't be half as advanced today in all manor of things. Did you know that domestic cars and their safety mechanisms often start out as things implemented in formula 1? F1 pioneers loads of new technology, therefore you could count the drivers and their teams as pioneers in some respects.
moto gp crashes... equally as bad. some horrible crashes..well all crash is horrible but these could have been fatal if they werent. bad crashes - video 1 bad crashes - video 2 has anyone here ever witnessed a bad crash of any sort?... when i went to brands hatch a couple of years ago to watch the bristish superbikes, james toseland crashed almost right infront of me, his bike almost flipped over the high fence. it was sort of rocking ontop of the fence then fell back down onto the gravel. was bad to see.
The Isle of Mann TT always has a couple of horrible crashes as well. A couple of spectators were killed this year I believe, though it is one of the most spectacular sporting events to watch live.
