Good going forward ... carp in defence.

Why was Shittu marking the smaller of the 2 U's strikers while Mariappa was left with the big guy ... Clive Platt.

Pleased with a point in the end >>> we need some quality in midfield (Rinaldi) and getting DeMerit back PDQ is a must.

We need to make the most of things b4 the New Year as there are a few clubs with investors dying to spend a little dosh (QPR/Ipswich) ... make Hay etc etc

Still nicely placed ... come on U Sky Blues !!

Mariappa won more in the air against the big bloke than Shittu I thought.

Mariappa has a great spring on him.

Shittu has always struggled against really big blokes in the air. In particular Adeabeyor last season.

Yet in the previous home games before last week it was our defence that one us a lot fo games by not buckling under pressre..

Does Shittu really miss playing with DeMerit that much?

Maybe DeMerit is the voice in the defence / organiser?

He was really out or sorts Shittu today :dismay:

Why do people think Rinaldi will be any better? By all accounts he spends all his time either with niggly injuries or playing mediocre reserve team football...

Exactly! Everyone who has watched him play for the Reserves over the last couple of months has said that he has been poor and largely anonymous.

Played well in the carling cup game at home and did well last season. you stick king in the reserves and he will do poor its always the case when you put a first teamer in there. I dont think we did need i felt the 2 center midfielders had a good game but i would to see him on the bench. today there times when williamson got the ball in attacking positions but did not have any attacking quality i think rinaldi might have that and would to see him be given a chance as when he played in the carling cup he was very good in attack, and took the game to them.

That was a game where he was playing with a bunch of kids who could not hold there own on the day. i dont understand why aidy signed him if he is not going to even pick him on the bench.

Aloi has supposedly looked more useful in the last two Reserve games at centre-mid than Rinaldi.

Maybe Rinaldi is getting pissed at not bring given a SINGLE chance !!!!

Surely you make your own chances? Maybe if he started performing for the reserves it'd be a good start.

We also don't see what goes on on the training ground or in Rinaldi's private life. There may be many reasons other than the obvious as to why he's not involved.

UEA Mahon plays average and NEVER gets dropped, Rinaldi gets zero starts !!!!

Yes but if you have a man in the first team playing poorly and his only potential replacement is also playing carp at an even worse level why bother taking the chance?

    Stuff Rinaldi...what happened to Bangers?

Very strange. He promised so much, but either has plummeted disapointingly or is being wasted. Is he another Lars Melvang.

Aidy has been consistently poor in the transfer market since he got the gig. From signing players like Cavalli seemingly on a whim to letting the world and its dog know who he wants to sign (Parkin)... he's signed plenty of flops with a few nice surprises (did anyones heart skip a beat when they fist heard we'd signed marlon king?)

He got injured again in his first game back from his broken arm. Ankle this time.
