Ok, this may be hard for some of you, but here goes.

    My suggestion -

No more talk of Manky. No more talk of sheep-sh@ggers. No more talk of sales or about how no one likes us or wants to join.

Instead, lets get behind the boys and Dyche (This includes Loach/Hodson). Lets even get behind the board. Come the first game of the season, away at Burnley, the boys in yellow will need us and our support. It's been difficult the last few weeks, but we still have a football club. We still have a stadium (even if it's sh!te). We still have our wonderful wonderful youth academy. We still have Taylor/Eustace and DOYLEY!

We have been in far worse positions over the years, with far worse people associated with the club. We've lost our ground before. We sold CC for pittance. We've experienced relegation and administration fears. Heck, we've even had the word "Liquidation" uttered in the same sentence as little old Watford FC. And let's not forget, we are still 3 leagues above L**on. That must give us some joy.

So please, don't say "Oh tinted glasses" or "Get your head out of the sand", instead agree with me. Keep positive. Keep the faith and most importantly of all, show your support for OUR Golden Boys.

It may be tough, but it's been tougher and I for one still cannot wait for the season to kick off!!

    Come On You Horns!!!! :badge:

What is the point of a forum, if you only want positive posts.

I have always been a "glass half full" man, but it is all relative. We need to experience all posts to be able to assess our positive on the positive/negative spectrum.

Right now, I am gutted that Watford gave the chance to two men, BR and MM, with no Management experience the chance to become Managers. Then they leave us for other similar CC clubs and both make it their priority to nick our backroom staff, our best players and targets, whilst armed with "insider" information.

I can't help feeling this way and if I want to express it on a Forum, I will.

I think that our policy of taking on these people on, probably on fairly low salaries, to reflect our finances and their experience, will continue to bring these feelings of being "cheated" by the Watford fans like me.

Then, Cowie (and I was one of his biggest fans) who we plucked from ICT, engineers a free transfer move by not signing an extension.

Yes, it is a football fact of life, but loyalty rarely counts for anything these days... and I'm not happy.

Very true. In time Dyche will also be vilified by the fans - he will either see us relegated and get sacked or do a great job in keeping us in the Championship and be poached.

If he is poached he will then be likely to take his backroom team with him and come in for those players that he values. That is football and actually happens in many business sectors as managers move on.

The problem is of WFC's making. We can't afford to pay big wages to managers or players and if we fail to tie up contracts properly or to demand "non-poaching" terms when managers leave we can't be surprised with the results. That said Malky has shown a complete disregard for WFC and our fans - he has no contractual obligation but has shown that he has no ethics or scruples. I hope he reaps what he has sown.

We need to discuss the rights and wrongs of situations in order to form a balanced opinion. Being too optimistic can be as bad as being too pessimistic.

Great minds think alike (or maybe it should be fools seldom differ ), whatever, I've just started a thread on more or less the subject you have raised in this post, we must have been writing at about the same time

Fact is Malky knows our financial restrictions and how difficult it is for us to attract half decent players and staff at the moment, he is dismantling our club little by little and i fear Cowie leaving isnt the last of it either. Bet they are all laughing at us from over the border.

Yes they are laughing. I've had a look at there forums and they are taking the pi ss how we are falling apart and that they are a much bigger and more attractive club to go to than little Watford. So fecking what I say, will make the win all the more enjoyable on boxing day. COYH

lets see how the season pans out for them.

The question will be, how long till their fans get on MM's back if they are not in the top 6?

As a major city with a brand new ground they probably ought to be....

I wonder if Cardiff fans would be so happy if MM signed more players from us but failed to get them promoted which cost Jones his job.

Malky, Rodgers, Vialli, Cowie, Connelly, Hessie and Cook have all at some point upset the fans of this club and are part of the reason why we have such a good forum with a wide range of discussion.

They aren't 2 or 3 year olds who stop what they are doing if you ignore them.

It's fine to have a pop at MM and Rodgers, but the club comes out the worst getting insulted left right and centre. It's not on.

And it's not just this situation. Look at Loach/ Hodson getting absolutely SLATED by our own 'fans'. It sickens me. Time for a change of attitude.

They're the most pathetic club in the Football League, so let them have this little laugh then. Been going all-in for 8 years with seemingly endless amounts of money to invest without getting promoted. Fulham, when they were in a similar position, went from the old Div 2 to the Prem in just 4 years.

They will of course eventually get there, maybe this year, maybe in three years - with the Malaysian cash it's inevitable. But until then, have a laugh every time they fail :sign15:

The point is surely that we should support more when we are down on our luck, at the bad times as it makes the good times so much sweeter. The team need us also.

If I wanted constant winning I'd support some **** in the prem. Instead Im happy with the underdog as we will always be. Better in my mind the journey than the destination.

At least next year will be interesting.

Ill even support Loach and Hodson. I supported Devon White for craps sake and they are better than he. Loach seems a genuinely good guy on twitter and doesnt deserve the vitriol he gets as he is young like Hodson.

If we are going down Im going to be on the deck when we do.

Re Loach and Hodson, it sickens me as well!

To be honest, I'm not really sure that I am having a "pop" at BR and MM.

When I left a major Corporation a few years ago, I had to sign a confidentially agreement, I was banned from approaching my old clients and I was subject to the Data Protection Act. Effectively, these stopped me from taking anything, but experience, away from my previous employer. Maybe, if I was not subject to these restrictions, then maybe I would have approached those clients that my previous employer had spent so much money in gaining in the first place. I would like to think that I wouldn't have, and I've done well since then despite those restrictions, but who knows.

But that doesn't make what happens in football, right. It seems that it is now "fair game" to s**t on your previous employers and fans.

For me, the sort of clause that has been talked about in other threads today, makes total sense for football in general.
