As we don't have a big squad, are we going to have to rely on a squad of utility players ?

I have tried to work out sho can fill in at a position if necessary, i'm sure i have missed someone

    Lee, Poom, Loach

    Right Backs
    Marriappa, Bromby, Doyley, DeMerit, Osbourne

    Left Backs
    Sadler, Harley, Parks, Osbourne, DeMerit

    Centre Backs

Goalies - The gas board - fart the opposition strikers into submission

Back line - Electric grid iron formation

    Midfield - Solar Energy

Strike force - has to be - Hydro - well it is pish poor at the moment.

That looks like a pretty good squad to me.

Honestly, the only position I'm really concerned about is striker (and CB if Shittu goes). Other than that, I really feel we have a decent squad so long as we can get our confidence up and play the right way.

so you are concerned in 2 out of 4 areas of our starting line up.

    Goalie ok
    Defence - concerned

    strikers concerned.

Please explain. This is the depleted version of the crap squad from last year. It is largeley made up of those that we know are not good for this division, those that are not good enough for the divisions below, and some unkonwn kids.

Where do you draw the line between good and bad?

You mean a squad that made the playoffs? That to me isn't too shabby squad wise.

I disagree. I think most of our squad is fine for this division (though not good enough for the PrL). Players in bold with their level of competence.

    Goal Keepers
Lee, Poom, Loach - CCC level

    Right Backs
    Marriappa, Bromby, Doyley, DeMerit, Osbourne
    CCC level (very low)

    Left Backs
    Sadler, Harley, Parks, Osbourne, DeMerit
    CCC level (medium)

    Centre Backs
Bromby, Shittu, Demerit, Sadler, Doyley, Avinlle, (sp) Bennett, Jackson
    CCC level (high)

    Right Midfield
    Smith, Mcnuff, Ainsworth, Williamson, Hoskins
    CCC level (high)

    Left Midfiled
    McNuff, Ainsworth, Harley,
    CCC level (medium)

    Centre Midfield
Francis, Williams, Williamson, Eustace, Bangura, O’Toole, Smith, Harley, Marriappa
    CCC level (medium)

    Forwards
Priskin, Hoskins, Ashikodi, Robinson, Smith, Young, L Henderson, Ainsworth
    League 1 (top)

We won't win the league but given a striker of CCC level and a system we can play - we'll be fine.

Krisvad - are you on holiday in Amsterdam?;)

No unfortunately on holiday at home this week. Amsterdam would have been sweet - and meant I'd say we were only one player away from being a serious force this season ;)

Get rid of Jackson ASAP plus Shittu and sign a couple of loanees for the season from the London clubs ie Stoch ,Hoyte with Bamba , de La Cruz , & a striker all for comparatively low fees and we can compete for a plaoff spot.

Team spirit & hunger can be factors to our advantage over the bigger highly paids squads who are not that mich better at Birmingham or Derby. :dismay:

Paddy we love ya...i agree 1 signing and we are a farce (or Force), we need a decent signing up front at the very least, as long as Big Dan stays...if all are fit the midfield looks fine, as well as gk position...just need some chaps who know where that net is....not the one for tadpoles down cassiobury park!

Or Could Dan be that big signing up front?...sorry Paddy stole it from your earlier post
