    berkshirehorn presumably I upset/disappointed someone

It's an enjoyable read mainly because he's saying what most of us here believe. Unfortunately today's news make the optimism a little harder to support. But he's right, every week we say to each other this is better than watching colchester..

You can boil all this down to:

    1. How you approached the season and your view throughtout.
Blind optimism, optimism, pragmatism or negativity.

    2. Your comments and thoughts.
Unrealistic expectations, realism, constructive criticism, concern, open warfare.

For instance I think Aidy hovers between blind optimism and optimism and had unrealistic expectations. Now that is great when you are trying to motivate your squad and supporters but the fall is greater if you fail to come close to those high targets.
Paddy started off as blindly optimistic (have you seen the thickness of his glasses) and very high expectations. He has managed this down as the season has gone on to the point where he is now pragmatic and concerned BUT optimistic for the future beyond this season mo.
There are people on this board, for example, who are bordering on open warfare and negativity but no names:)

I think the right approach is to be optimistic but realistic and make constructive criticism when it is deserved. Of course, we all lose it from time to time and we have to accept this if we are passionate about our Club. A good rant does make you feel better.
