"I prefer a certain type of striker" probably means he prefers one that cant head the ball.

But can we send him back? If Southampton were looking to offload the wages would they have been allowed to stipulate that the loan could not be terminated early?

I have no idea if we can break the contract...but we do have a chance to sign him permanently in January...I wonder if we have any clauses which allow us to send him back next month...

Havent seen Priksin play under Rodgers so i'll reserve judgement because the last time I saw him play he was one of the worst players on the pitch. Any striker that scores goals is good in my book though.

If the Watford board were sensible they'd have written a break clause into the deal. We might have to pay some compensation to activate it but it'd be less than paying his wages for another 5 months. But this is the Watford board we're talking about so :dismay:

To not play a fully fit Rasiak in this division whether you happen to like his style or not make any sense at all his as his goalscoring record speaks for itself.

    Rasiak 48 goals in 124 appearances (CCC) - 38.7%
    Priskin 9 goals in 55 appearances (CCC) - 16.4%
    Hoskins 4 goals in 29 appearances (CCC) - 13.8%

So in fact One Rasiak is worth Two Priskins .... I think I know who I would be looking to play in order to get my team out of the smelly stuff even if I had to adopt a different footballing philosophy in the short-term.

I would imagine his goal scoring record has dwindled in recent seasons...

Whereas Tamas' is on the rise and playing for the cause! He's younger, he's our player, and he's now forged a good partnership with Smith. He's also shown he can work very well with Hoskins aswell.

I think if we stick with Priskin upfront, that will be enough to get us out of the 'smelly stuff'...he's got a lot more in his locker than Greg!

I agree with playing Priskin and Hoskins as they are 'our' players and the future of the club however in the same way we should be able to change style from 'direct' to 'passing' we will also need to be able to adjust our style the other way against certain teams .... we cannot afford to become one dimensional and predictable.

To not even stick Rasiak's arse on the bench makes no sense as at 29 he still has goals in him and is quality for this division. For a big bloke he is skillful and holds the ball up well, he is also decent in the air (2 aspects that Tamas needs to work on !!) and adds the kind of physical presence we have missed since Doris left.

I thought Priskin did well in the air on Wednesday.

I seem to remember that Rasiak was not even getting on the bench at the Saints towards the end of last season/beginning of this, so might have been due to other circumstances as well as the wages. His is certainly not a player who does a lot of running and would imagine he is not the best trainer in the world.

I would have him on the bench no more, but think the last time he played, he scored didn't he? If we have to continue to pay his wages, would seem silly to not even have in the squad, despite that fact he is not our player. therefore, i am sure there most be an escape clause for January or might well be that he has agreed to join someone else aleady and thus we have decided to not pick him.
