Bozo Ben is magic a clown of the finest class and everyone around him wants to kiss his rs He kicks with his left foot he kicks with his right and when he plays against City they'll score all ucking night. Thanks Ben - a decent enough keeper for a team like Watford and you did ok for us, so thanks.
best goalie we've had since ive followed watford (not hard: chamberlain, day, baardsen, lee, pidgeley)
Wow....your sentiment is overwhelming. I take it you didn't rate him much then Paddy?? He will be our player of the season by a mile, as he's the only player that's really made the grade at this level, apart from Young of course. To write in your song one of the only 2 or 3 mistakes he's made all season is a tad unfair, but then if you have an agenda against someone you're hardly going to paint them in a good light, so I can see where you're coming from. Put it this way....without him this season, we would have been thumped most games and lost by greater margins.
To be honest HB1 - he is a decent keeper - but the way the press and the fans and Fergie/Aidy and everyone is building him up is IMO not healthy for the individual. Logically - 1) - He's been playing 1st team football for two seasons and people want him as Englands number 1. 2) - I accept the English goalkeeping scenario is at rock bottom compared to the legends of Banks, Shilton, Clemence, Bonneti from past era's. But the premiership has so many quality keepers, Ben is well down the packing order - had we had one of the quality keepers, we may not have lost so many as we did. 3) - you cant win games defending - every single match we play we have every player back in defence for an oppo corner or free kick, unless we are already 2-0 down - the reason why we went down is a lack of midfield and we couldn't create and score. 4) - Yes Ben has made some excellent saves, but when he makes a save that any other decent keeper makes it is blown out of proportion. A keeper is there to make saves thats his job. 5) - Countless times we have given away possession in a league that you just cannot afford to do it in - due to Ben kicking. 6) - How much time was spent in close season securing Bens loan and how much time was perhaps lost getting other players in other positions? I wish the lad well - i just don't want to see a player bigged up so much that all the pressure is put on him for the newspapers and fans to then stick the knife in his back as very often happens - thats my job Headlines i can see - Ben flops - Ex Watford keeper..... nothing about manure. Playing for Man Ud regularly will prove how good he is not playing regularly for Watford. I sincerely wish him well and he has been a very good keeper for us.
He eats pizza to the left he eats Kentucky to the right Oh Paddington bear eats everything that is supposedly shyte
Almost agree with you jobr. 1. Pat with hands like shovels and the agility of a trapeze artist. 2. Coton - just very sound. 3. Alec - Mr Consistency at all levels of the game. 4. Ben - not higher due to poor distribution and penalty blindness - but has good potential to improve. 5. Richard - `home grown` and a great shot stopper - not the finished article, but like Ben has potential to improve
Foster has been quality. Put it this way against Reading we would of been 3-0 if Lee was in goal. Foster always referred to Watford as HIS club which I liked. Good luck to him.
i got two things i want to say about be foster. 1. when he came to watford he was only know for playing for stoke and wrexham now two season later he is leaveing watford and he an england international and made a real name for himself so credit to watford. to my final point 2. forster will go back to united and next season he will be lucky to get 10games, forster needs to be playing every week if he going to be england number 1 one day.im worryed united will just leave him on the bench to rot and then when he does get a chance he will be ****. there my views
Yes Paddy - you are probably right, we tend to get a bit blinded by the `England thing` and media hype. Those guys were all major Watford heroes - the memory fades a bit when you get into your 20s!
Thought some of you guys went back a long way, mentioning Micky, Micky Walker and Bert Slater. How come you forgot Gordon Livesey!!!!!!!
P.S. My order is:- Pat Jennings (Irish International) Tony Coton (Did he ever play for his country) David James (English International) Micky Walker (Welsh International I seem to remember) Ben Foster (English International) And they say the Horns ain't got pedigree!!
we have always had reasonable to very good to excellent keepers - except the waiter and the dude who at Cambridge lost 4-0 and we told him he was shyte and he stuck two fingers up at us and never played again - hilarious.
