A clearout maybe?

I wonder if we might now try to balance the books a little? By having a bit of a clear out in the positions where we are beginning to look a bit overcrowded?

Either that, or put a few out on loan, preferably with a loan fee coming to us?

VOR, you posting is seriously degrading. First you ask if Iwelumo is a dud signing because he's got a minor hamstring injury in pre-season, now you're asking if we should offload people because for the first time in god knows how long we've got a bit of depth? :dismay:

i'm not sure we have enough of a squad to off load anyone.

Maybe a couple of defenders on short loans but thats about it

We can afford to send a few of the younger players out on loan because with the new signings and reduced substitute numbers they probably won't get much of a look in until cup games.

Crying out for new players and now we have too many? No pleasing some.

Maybe we could loan 1 or 2 players out for match experience, probably the likes of Bennett, Eddie, mingoia etc but besides that i dont think we should be looking to get rid of anyone.

We should not be letting anyone out on loan unless it's for a very good reason. We have a bit of depth in the squad for the first time in a while.

Another consideration here is that in recent seasons we have not had a bad spell of injuries. I know that McGinn has been out for some time and won't be back for a few months yet but generally we have not a run of injuries to key players all at the same time. The squad we have now covers the possibility of a bad run of injuries.

...and if young Tom James impresses enough to earn a contract we might even have cover at left back!

We're only a Sordell/Taylor injury from being weak again up front or defence so need to keep cover clearly.

Maybe Bryan for example could go out on loan if anyone wants him.

I would only loan out players if an offer came in from a Champions League club, to get them some experience at the top level.

It's not that daft a suggestion guys! He isn't saying sell first teamers or even their back ups. We now have 3 players competing for a right back slot. Maybe not sell one but Thopmson should probably go out on loan. The same could be said for Oshodi OR Bennett, Bryan OR Mingoia, and then maybe one of the centre mids when McGinn comes back. Plus if we get another striker in then possibly Massey as well.

Plus the lad Murray, sounds like he COULD be a star, but where is he going to play at the moment? Probably needs a loan spell.

Id loan out players that are below the 63 rating on fifa,

But relistically i think oshodi, thompson, bryan, massay to go out on loan

Squad-wise it's 6 in 3 out, but financially it's 6 in 5 out, with Duke and Sadler off the books.

I haven't seen the incomers in a Watford shirt, but on paper Sean has done a good rebuilding job. Although it may seem we've got a surplus of players now, it won't look that way when injuries and suspensions kick in, and you can't expect all 6 signings to be a success.

Don't worry, we will lose some of our better players in the January transfer window.
