2010 England World Cup Predictor Competition

I thought that I would try and generate some "pre World Cup" excitement and find out who has and who hasn't the best nose for selection.

Admin is going to make this post a sticky and then move it across to the world cup section after the closing date for entries. Admin has also been good enough to help front up some prizes, which I will also contribute to.

2010 ENGLAND WORLD CUP SQUAD PREDICTOR COMPETITION​

The rules are simple

All you have to do is predict which 23 players are in the full England squad and their squad numbers at the start of our first match v the USA.

You need to specify which player you have selected - i.e. Joe Cole, Ashley Cole or Carlton Cole, Luke Young, Ashley Young, Rio Ferdinand, Les Ferdinand or Anton Ferdinand and show which squad number you think they will wear.

Once you have submitted your squad you cannot change it. If a player is injured or withdrawn you cannot replace them.

Scoring You will get 3 points for every correct player and 2 points for matching him up against the right squad number.

As a tie breaker you need to indicate which England player will score our 1st goal, then 2nd, then 3rd, down to the 7th goal.

Those who get the 1st scorer wrong will be eliminated (in the tie break) then the 2nd till we get a winner.

You can pick the same player to score as many goals as you wish. So you can pick Heskey to score the 1st, 2nd and 5th goal if you wish.

Your entry needs to be posted before the 1st May (30th April latest) - A month before the squad is officially announced.

In the event of a draw the prize will be split.

Remember to put your squad numbers down and identify which, Cole, Ferdinand, you have selected and don't forget your ties break scorers.

WAS could you just clarify this point please

Is that up to the deadline of the 1st of May or is it set in stone as soon as you post?

If changes can't be made period its pointless entering until nearer the closing date as for example Green could break a hand and Crouch a leg this weekend.

If you can make changes up to the deadline of the 1st perhaps more people will enter now as opposed to waiting.

You have read it right, once you have submitted, you've submitted, no changes no editing. So if Crouch does break his leg this weekend then thats the luck of the draw.

Of course after the closing date, 30th April, there is another premiership game, the FA cup final and three international friendlies, so anything can happen.

Again your right, the earlier birds who have posted to date have taken more of a gamble than those waiting till the last minute. I think they are just a bit cocky if you ask me !
