plus 3 in the fa cup. roll on next season. Plymouth mid week in august is a great time , followed by Bristol City away on the saturday. A nice little summers break. Then a trip up to Slumberland and Burnley in early September while its still warm. hmmm we definitely neeed to get back to goalscoring ways quickly, and we need to end this season on a high if possible. we also have to adjust back to JS being a clumsy oaf again, + i reckon quite a few players will now think they are too good for championship football, namely demeritt, possibly francis (though am i bothered?), mckaay will be even slower/retired, shittu might leave to i reckon. i think we cud bounce right back but not that sure, and would we survive in the prem the year after any better than this year?
I’m a relatively big fan of Demerit, but I think he’d be being delusional if he thought he was already too good for the Championship. In recent weeks in particular he’s been caught out, I know that will improve with experience, but really like us, he needs to drop down, in order to move forward again – 2 steps forward, 1 step back and all that. I’d like to think Shittu would stay, and I think once our quick side gets the extra space in the Championship we will do well again, but I agree we need to end this season on a positive like we did 99/00, and us as fans just need to accept, move forward and celebrate again.
