Ok, so, we have 1 week to go until the transfer window closes. So far Watford have done some business by extending Chalobah's loan until the end of the season and tying Fessi into a long-term contract with the club. We have seen Joe Garner go to Preston on a free and a few loanees have gone out to get first team experience. Do you reckon we'll see more permanent deals? Any new faces? More departures?
I predict by the end of the window we'll be saying it's probably the best transfer window in the club's history.
I would be surprised if we don't permanently offload the likes of Jenkins, Buaben, Bennett, ****inson etc.
Definately, would be good for both of them to have a decent season in League Two. Assombalonga hasn't scored in a while and Murray needs a confidence boost. Southend are lacking a left mid at the moment and would be a good move for both parties.
Thought Ilewumo might have gone by now. Rumoured move to Bristol City scuppered though by managerial change there. I am interested to see what happens at Palace. If they sell Zaha in the window for 15m and loan him back, could make significant funds available for their promotion push.
It may be a good move for him, he'll get his confidence back and will show him how less glamorous footballers make a living.
Completely disagree, it'll show him that he needs to work to avoid playing at such a level and he's more likely to impress and come back with confidence. Last thing he'd benefit from would be going to a mid-table club in League 1, not making much of an impact and coming back in a worse situation than he's in now.
i think no one will come in but a few of the loan players will sign and i can see 3-4 players to leave but saying that if i was zola i would bring in some more players just in case
Will have to agree to disagree on this. IMO going to a league 1 club and not making much of an impact may give him the kick up the arse he may need. Although we know he's more than capable of doing well at championship and league 1 level. Going to league 2 and performing well will surely give him false confidence when he gets back to the higher level of the championship. I cant help thinking that his over confidence that he'd 'made it' as a top class footballer has sent him off the rails but again, thats just an opinion.
I think what's 'happened' with Murray is being blown out of all proportion somewhat. Last season he came in and did brilliantly, there's no doubt. However, he'd only turned 18 that season, and was thrust in out of desperation really, and although you could argue he should have been played earlier, he couldn't/ shouldn't/ can't, ideally, be playing every game. At the start of this season an injury set him back, and he wasn't fit, plus his Nan passed away, which can't have helped. Then, as he was regaining fitness, we changed formation, and so he's got to adjust to playing in a deeper midfield role. Clearly still not match fit, there are players ahead of him who have been/ are performing superbly in their natural position/s. That's all there is to it really. He's still very, very young, and yet people are getting worried. The hyperbole over his 'drinking' is ridiculous, frankly. I think a loan move to somewhere like Brentford, playing in a central position similar to the one he'd play in our line-up would be excellent, or, even better, to Peterborough, who play the same formation and obviously play in the Championship. Murray is still an excellent player right now in this league, it's just a chain of events have made it difficult for us to play him.
I predict a signing next week that will shock and delight most of us on this forum in equal measure..it won't be for the lack of trying if it fails.
If I was Huddersfield, the first player I'd get in if he was a free transfer would be Buaben, he's exactly the sort of player they needed. Or just a new team.
I can understand why we haven't got Vydra on permanent yet but you would think we would have made the other players like Abdi, Ekstrand and Pudil permanent
