well i heard on sky sports news earlier that the premierleague are giving the football league 90 millions to spread out between the clubs over 3 years. i think its because they have the enw t.v deal and are donating extra cash to the football league.

    good news really:]]

    From BBC:

The Premier League is to give more than £90m to the Football League over the next three seasons.
Its 'solidarity package' will be distributed down the football pyramid, with £31.8m handed out next season.

The funding includes £5.4m for Football League youth development, plus £11.2m to be split between Championship, League One and League Two clubs.

Championship clubs will have an extra £11.2m or £22.4m in seasons with one or three spare parachute payments.

This solidarity payment means that Football League clubs will have the ability to increase investment in critical areas such as youth development and community programmes

Premier League chief executive Richard Scudamore

Clubs in the second tier of English football will receive an extra £11.2million next season because Sunderland and Birmingham, who made an instant return to the Premier League, will no longer receive parachute payments.

That leaves West Brom, Watford, Sheffield United and Charlton as the four parachute clubs.

Last season's fifth-placed club, Wolves, will receive £1,383,602, with the sixth-placed club, Southampton, receiving around £75,000 less and so it will continue until the club in 13th place, Cardiff, who will receive £775,909. Clubs finishing 13th and below will all receive that amount.

League One clubs will receive £103,480 each, with £68,987 going to League Two clubs.

    606: DEBATE
Will the Premier League's money make a real difference to the lower leagues?

Premier League chief executive Richard Scudamore said: "The Premier League and our member clubs recognise the importance of the continued health of the professional game at all levels.

"This solidarity payment means that Football League clubs will have the ability to increase investment in critical areas such as youth development and community programmes."

The Premier League is set for a windfall of £2.7bn from its new television deals over the next three seasons.

Apparently each Championship team will recieve an extra £1mill, with each League 1 team getting an extra £400,000+ and League 2 teams getting an extra £300,000 each, or something like that, I can't remember the figures, they were on SSN earlier.

IMO all of the money should go to the league one and two teams

then what about the recently promoted teams lurking at the bottom of the championship, they arent likely to get into the prem money anytime soon

someone always has to lose out , just like the teams that have been relegated from the premiership this year.

Just think they'll get it when they all get demoted back to league one at the end of the season ;)

surely as everyone is getting money its going to just inflate transfer costs a bit more, also if i was a league 2 team i would be p!ssed off that the richer clubs are getting richer with them recieving less money.

stop and think everyone..the prem gets 2.7bill and the football league get 90milll..

Now tell me where the divide in football is?

They only care about the prem and the 1mill or less is just to help towards reducing running costs, its not gonna make anyone a profit.

I wish sky would pull the plug, then lets see how man utd and co who are in around 500mill in debt cope..

*** the prem and all it stands for.

Well it is 90mil more than they have given before. It is a start and I hope it is seen that more needs to filter down.

I can't see how clubs like us should get even more money from the Premiership seeing we have only just been relegated. The extra money should go to the League 2 and 1 teams or perhaps even into a fund to provide help to clubs who might struggle and go into administration (apart from Leeds that is!)

We don't matimers, what Evasive's article doesn't get to the crux of is we don't get a penny of this as we're receiving parachute payments already.

put in in the bank along wit of all our money.the rest h

I thought that. Still, clubs like Wolved who have just been brought by rthat bloke who was after Liverpool shouldn't get any either. Give it all to clubs like Bury, Rotherham and Wrexham.

All we would do with it, is to put it in the bank along with the rest of all our money we now have.

    amen.

A ******* league that should never have been conceived and should have been killed years ago.

Its the League 2 clubs that survive on a show string that need cash injections.

One day the Premier League will become bite off more than it can chew, and leave all hte 'top' clubs with an ITV Digital style financial situation we can all laugh at as they go into administration one by one.
