Don’t get me wrong, I know every player has to start somewhere and the player could be class for all I know....

But Spurs have signed Ndombele from Lyon for £65m. 12 months ago he played for Amiens in France...

Whereas we signed Doucoure from Rennes (bigger/better than Amiens) and he’s impressed in the PL for 2 seasons already and would have been cheaper.

Ndombele could (and probably is) a better player. But it does seem sometimes clubs want to spend more money just for the sake of it.

 

More than happy to keep Doucoure. His stats are pretty comparable with Ndombele. Time will tell if he is the real deal of course and should improve the Spurs midfield.

 

I’d be delighted to keep Doucoure. We were dreadful without him last season and a tinpot Pozzo replacement would be a huge downgrade.

I would never do that. The ‘value’ (price?) of players these days is a massive smokescreen masking their actual talent. I prefer to judge what I see on the pitch.
