That team was misery. My first ever season ticket - the amount of unnecessary player sales was ridiculous (Bardsley, Falco, Richardson, probably several others I've forgotten about).

A superb win and outstanding team performance. Too many of the comments on here in the last few days have been truly pathetic and I trust we can expect at least a few days of contrite silence from certain posters now.

It's mindless. Coincided again with a potentially dangerous opposition set piece.

As mindless as Emma Saunders farting out the first half injury time amount when we were breaking into the penalty area.

I'm in two minds about this. Part of me thinks it is getting a bit tired now and should probably stop but on the other hand - given everything GT did for our club - I wonder if it is really asking too much of people to mark his passing by standing up and clapping for one minute once a week between August and May.

It’s tedious now. There is a stand and a statue in GT’s honour and they will likely be there for the next century. Why mark the age of his death in any case? Hardly a number to celebrate. Why not clap 44th minute for his birth? Or 77th minute to make him joining Watford.

The participation was very weak in any case this time so I think it will stop now in any case as there will only be 100 people clapping.

I'm not normally in the ground by the 72nd minute so I don't really care if it stays or goes

Certainly wasn't much of an effort in the SEJ stand..

Mind you as UEA says Brighton had a dangerous free kick lined up....more worried and concerned about that.

After all GT would have wanted full concentration and focus on the free kick.

Oh no they got that part alright, they know we outplayed them in every single way. They were just complaining that that happened against "Watford for god sake, not Barcelona!"

The applause for GT was great for a period of time but I feel we should think what he would have wanted and I am fairly certain he would want it to stop now. He will obviously never be forgotten and always remembered as the greatest Watford manager but we have a statue and a stand but he would want the club and everybody associated with it to concentrate on the here and now.

Really enjoyed being there yesterday, it didn't matter that they shut the M25 so it took forever to get home. That performance was so important to shut those media ***** up, I had started to believe all the nonsense. Good noise from the Rookery.
    A few issues:
Why are there so many no shows. The attendance 20051 was more likely 17000
The 72 min thing should stop.
Harry's drum has to stop as well.
What happened to all the flags? Thought they always looked great.
Why, when we score a great goal do pundits say it was poor defending, they're so patronising.

Have to say I enjoy the 72 min GT clap.

Everything that adds to the atmosphere and history of the club, I think is good .

Call me old fashioned but I still clap the 6th minute of every game, in honour of the AM time Skilly Williams went over the top at The Somme and ran into a wall of machine gun fire from the Bosch .

I'd keep the 72nd minute applause for eternity if it was a trade off for never having to hear anyone chant "Foster's coming home" ever again.

The only reason he'd want it to stop is because it got pathetic.

As in, if you can't be arsed, it's best you don't bother.

I doesn't matter what GT would have wanted.

It's what the fans want.if you don't fancy it, don't do it. But please don't try to justify your apathy by saying GT wouldn't want it, because if it was done with enthusiasm, he'd absolutely love it.

He probably should have waited for the rest of his unit then, because the first infantry attack on the Somme was at 7.30 am.

Every time we win it's going to "because the opposition were poor" isn't it?

Brighton continuously played it back and we put pressure on the defence. Most clearances were panicked, giving possession back to us. Groß was played off the park and they created nothing. How do football journalists and pundits get these jobs?

I'll probably knock it on the head - no doubt incurring the wrath of the chap who sits to my right who jumps to attention dead on 71.59 and claps 'till his palms bleed every week!

You cant really blame brighton for thinking they were going to turn us over. The media have been hammering home the point that we're relegation certs all summer, even our own fans have. Let's hope the knuckle draggers of burnley have the same mindset. The penny will drop that we're ace eventually, but the first few teams will be complacent.

Let's hope it's the same every season, because it's sods law that as soon as we start getting tipped for greatness, that's when we'll go down.

Another home game, another 'sell out' crowd and once again gaping holes in the Vicarage Road end Family Stand.
Due to our high proportion of season ticket holders around the ground there are always going to be a few who can't attend, especially at this time of year with people on holiday (bad planning), but the Family Stand is embarrassing. It's too late for this season but I think the club should stop issuing season tickets for this area at all and sell the seats on a match by match basis, but with the same 'family' deal. I'm sure the demand is there to virtually fill the stand in this way, especially for afternoon kick-offs and then it wouldn't be hijacked by people buying cheap season tickets for their children who only intend to turn up for half a dozen games a season. A similar loyalty system of levels A, B & C could be operated as in the rest of the ground and potentially more children would get the opportunity to come to a game.

I think he was just drawing fire so they could work out where the 68 German guns were. The Alarm wrote a tribute song about him and how the strength of the German arsenal was so terribly under-estimated that day. Only 68 guns were fired as the rest of the Hun was still having breakfast knowing that kick off was at 7.30am.

I've never had the pleasure (or the urge), but if I ever wanted to find out what she smells like, I think I'd go straight to her.

    No offence...
