Nice to have one over on Big Fat Scam and the second team in Liverpool. No doubt 'In this moment' will turn up there shortly.
Careful what you wish for - Everton will need a manager at the end of the season and if they would pay £15m for Slither what price Gracia?
We did beat Leicester.. what i meant was that it fitted in with the name of the programme that was on BBC1 last night.. "Troy: The fall of a City"
I think we can all enjoy the fact that Mark Lawrenson was less accurate than Margot Robbie on his prediction. Someone who is actually paid for his thoughts was beaten by a Hollywood actress with no real interest in the game.
Total **** in the first half but I thought the second half was great. They never looked like scoring and we thoroughly deserved the win. Lovely game management at the end. We'd have lost that under the portugese narcissist. Unfortunately during the course of the match I came to two unpleasant conclusions: Richarlison and pereyra are **** and we're a better side when they aren't playing. I love the fact our manager didn't bring gomes back and made the right footballing decision to keep the Greek chap in goal. I hate to say it but he's miles the better player. Also good to see the manager obviously thinks gray is completely pointless. I suspect he'll be quietly moved on in the summer, to some terd like Derby. MOTM Holebas.
I take it the streamers were placed there before the game rather than thrown up there in the build up?
Yep! The mind boggles to think where we might be if we had that grotesquely-ugly-yet-supremely-talented gargoyle leading the line. Did more in 9 minutes yesterday than Gray has done in his entire career.
Agree about Karnesis. He commanded the box much better and was much more vocal in directing the players. Good shot stopper too.
Me too. I'm sure, given comments on here for weeks, that this will be unpopular, but Capoue was my Man of the Match. I think one of the more important achievements of Gracia's so far is getting Capoue to play again. There were other good performances out there, so it's a close call, I'd agree. It seems strange to say there were good performances in a match that was so dire to watch, but both teams set up not to lose. Particularly Everton. When you think of how much money has been spent on some of their players it was quite shocking to see how poor some of them were. Rooney is surely on his reserve tank by now - he dropped back and back, trying to get some space to play and the Watford midfield pursued him relentlessly. Their brightest players were probably their youth team products. The distribution of Capoue, Doucoure, Deulefeu, Pereyra and co will look better if and when the movement off the ball gets better.
We live in Selsey. About 300 yards from the beach. From either our upstairs balcony (all houses in a seaside place apparently have to have a balcony) or our bedroom there is a view of the sea and across to the IoW. Unfortunately other people have built houses along the road or else we would have an unrestricted view As I look out now I can see Sandown and Shanklin bathed in sunshine. Unlike the sea I am very shallow and am going about today with a happy smile on my face - 3 points always seems to do this to me - and even a walk along the front in freezing wind this morning with our dog did not dampen my spirits.
Apparently the 1881 did it in tribute to every torn hamstring the team has suffered this season. One yellow ribbon each hammy.
Kiko and Doucoure bloody marvellous Pereyra and Rich shyte again 1881 quiet again Recorded the match watched It again this morning, Glenda Hoddle obviously despises our club, his comments throughout were so negative towards us. I guess it stems back to the eighties when he was looked upon as the new Pele and we were the anti Christ of football, what with being labelled as hoof merchants and all that. **** off Hoddle, you ****
I was uncomfortable every time Davies got on the ball. Showed positive intent coupled with that unsettling man bun.
I agree to an extent with Reid's about Doucoure, the game was there to be taken by the scruff of the neck but no one really wanted it until about sixty minutes in when Doucoure came alive. Did anyone else see Capoue's no look pass to Okaka by Everton's box? Absolutely sublime.
What is this nonsense that people keep spouting? He's played once a week (taking into account cup games being roughly countered by international breaks) for 90 mins, split into 2 x 45mins with a 15 minute break. During those 90 mins he spends most of the time jogging or walking, interspersed with the occasional sprint. After this exertion he has a couple of days warm down/rest before starting training for the next match. He then has months off over the summer before it all starts over. Tennis players play at a much higher intensity, more often (sometimes every other day for hours at a time) all year round. In summary, ah bless.
No, he was definitely Everton’s best mate last night. If you have time and BT, watch the match and you’ll see what I mean
He wasn't Impressed but assured us time and time again how the 'technicians' would have an impact on the game once fatigue of both body and mind set in. As an expert analyser he really is woeful. He offers zero insight, instead he simply describes the replays. Worse than useless. Utter utter tripe. And he was wrong about the technicians coming to the fore as well. Not one screwdriver in sight, just Deeney's piledriver into the roof of the net.
27 games since his previous goal from open play. And he didn't deserve MoTM - it was just the obvious choice in a not so great game as he scored the only goal. When he plays as a lone striker he's still useless; Okaka made the biggest difference today. Finally, please don't call me "mate", ******.
I think you missed the point, he's been playing a longer season than anyone else. His season started 11th May 2017 where he played a full 90 minutes, since then: 14th May - 90 minutes 21st May - 74 minutes 27th May - 90 minutes 4th June - 85 minutes 7th June - 88 minutes 16th June - 90 minutes 18th June - 90 minutes 22nd June - 90 minutes 25th June - 90 minutes 30th June - 90 minutes 4th July - 90 minutes 135h July - 90 minutes 17th July - 90 minutes 21st July - 90 minutes 23rd July - 90 minutes 27th July - 90 minutes Then comes to Watford, he's played 3 solid months of football before some in our team had even played a friendly. Add in the fact he's 20 years old, left Brazil to come to England, settling in a new house, new people, new club, new weather, new food, new language and as a boy transitioning into a man (physically and mentally) it's not hard to see why his form has tailed off a bit! Yes they may be paid millions a year but they are still humans and your post doesn't seem to grasp that.
I’m looking forward to the 1881 production of this epic. Starring IBB as Helen & Deeney as the whole city of Troy.
What they get paid is irrelevant - he simply doesn't play football for months 'solid'. He plays for roughly an hour and a half per week. That's less than 1% of his time actually playing football, assuming he's running for the full 90 mins, which he certainly isn't. Sometimes that might rise to 2%, sometimes nothing at all except for training scientifically designed to keep him fit and able to cope with it. Loss of form can happen for lots of reasons, but I can't accept burn out as one of them.
Can your dog deduce the score line from your Sunday morning demeanour? Btw, glad your view of Shanklin isn’t courtesy of a high powered telescope positioned by the bedroom window.
But Federer doesn’t get kicked by Nadal every 20 mins. Not even a little jostle when they change ends.
And the most fouled played in the division. And the impact of recently learning of the existence of the place up the motorway. A blissful 19 1/2 years, then that.
I like to keep personal remarks to the politics section, but you really are being ****ish at the moment. As well as playing 90 minutes every week, he will have been training nearly every other day during that period. He has played 47 games in 9 months. Also do you think that managers complaining about fatigue at the end of the season are just getting their excuses in? Why not just start the new season at the end of May?
Agreed apart from the bit about the 1881. The rookery made a decent noise for 90 minutes and even the family stand were joining in.
