I hope he issues a rallying cry to his players to get a ****ing grip and create some chances, and not defend like an Under 11's kids team. Hopefully he will tell them not to keep trying to walk the ball into the net, or keep passing it sideways all the time.

Yeovil have won one game all season. If we lose this I fear that this forum will implode and there may be an actual Watford caller on 3CR 505.

It's a shame that Zola feels the need to come out and say this but you can't blame him; the atmosphere last week was absolutely pitiful.

The amount of fans who were completely uninterested in doing anything to get behind the team was shameful, as were the chants of ''Let's pretend we scored a goal'' when there was still ten minutes left to play and we were only 1-0 down.

Of course noise wasn't an issue when it came to booing at half and full time or when the ref was adjudged to have made a mistake or Bolton were time wasting.

I thought the attempt at football by Watford on the pitch was absolutely pitiful. It cuts both ways.

Good for you, this isn't a thread about the performance of the team though.

It'll help if there is something on the pitch worth making a noise about, Mr Zola. A little tip for you there.

Yes, it's Catch 22. The players need the fans to inspire them, the fans need the players to inspire them.

    Who will crack first?

totally agree, teams with confidence and whom are winning never need to come out and ask for support....

I'm sorry but i dont agree with players need fans to inspire them...the players are represnting our club & if they are lacking in inspiration to perform to there abilities then we need to get rid of them now.

They were 1 game away from being in the premiership last season & the failure to do so should be the inspiration they need! just play the clip of the final whistle going at wembley in the changing rooms that should fire them up n motivate them!

They are doing what alot of us fans would love to be doing going out there at 3pm on a saturday & making the fans happy.

The Watford fans are 99% up for it every match, confidence is low on the pitch & confidence off the pitch from the fans is a bit low too with the recent run of results & form.

Attack as a team going forwards & try to look clinical in there finishing & defend as a team & not a bunch of school boys. Body's on the line & leave nothing in the changing rooms.

    Come on you Horns :)

It is a shame that Zola needs to come out and say this. However if the performances were better he wouldn’t need to make these pleas, so you CAN attach some blame to him.

Before you start accusing me of having some vendetta against Zola, I honestly don’t. I am however incredibly disappointed on how this season is panning out. And judging by all the booing last week I’m not the only one

It's the age old question of do the players spark the crowd or the crowd spark the players.... it's both

Not the first time magers have asked for support. GT criticised the home support and promptly made up a sign with a major public apology.

For me the players need their raise their energy levels and first win the right to play. Losses are becoming too easily accepted and that's not moving us forward.

Biggest match of the season so far. Fact.

Lose tomorrow, or anything but a win really, will raise some much bigger question marks over the manager, his players and the general direction we're going in.

Id find it a lot easier to cheer if I turn up and see a team sheet that doesn't consist of 3 center backs, 2'wing backs, a defensive midfielder and another midfielder who only a week earlier in the programme confesses to being a .... Defensive midfielder.... How you can start a match with 7 of your 10 outfield players being predominantly defensive minded is beyond me.... And if we are continuing to try and counter attack quickly can someone tell the back 3 to pass quicker..... And Thorne needs to actually move out the center circle.. Oh and win a header and a tackle....

Might be worth losing tomorrow to see hjw and Orny Arry (to a much lesser extent) perform the forum version of spontaneous combustion.

Or more's the point, how can you start with 7 out of 10 outfield players being predominantly defensive, and still be so appallingly inept at stopping the opposition from scoring?!

7 defenders who are not very good at stopping GOLES. And 3 attackers who are not very good at scoring GOLES.

And he wonders why we don't make much noise.

Now he's said this you know what is going to happen - Shorty will try and get the crowd going then Yeovil get an early goal to dampen the mood..

    Hopefully wrong!

    Agree

Its never a good sign when any manager is looking for insperation from elswhere. It needs to be found from within the camp and the concentration and focus needs to be on how to motivate the players to step up to the levels that they are capable of.

Look normally I'm the last one to subscribe to the notion that players need crowd support to do their jobs. They are well paid and it's the crowd who pay the wage bill. However, even the team entrance last week was met with an utterly lukewarm reception. I still think people have memories far too short, and what Zola is asking for in a period where he has 3-4 nailed on first teamers out is a bit of encouragement.

I don't think that is too unreasonable. If he doesn't sort out his side of the bargain you can always have a whinge after the game (although I'm sure as always that will be done in the most objective fashion....)

If you really think the display last week was pitiful, then I dont think you can have lived through some of the playing eras that I have!

If we do loose this afternoon, and we certainly don't have any right to win, this palce will implode big time!
