It's disappointing that someone at the club got so giddy after the Wembley win that they thought it made sense to drop over 50 years of tradition and bin the classic, stirring Z Cars theme. I've nothing against I'm Still Standing - in fact I quite like it - but, to me, it almost encourages the players to skip, rather than march, on to the pitch - which must give a boost to the opposition. I expect home results to suffer if it is retained.

 

As Holloway would say "it's just not roight".
Z cars is very old fashioned but great, partly because of that fact.

 

I've got nothing against change but if adding a new song it should be one you can sing along to.

Pretty sure there were some vote poles around on social media over last couple of months and 'I'm still standing was top of the list. Personally think he should write us a new anthem that can be sung, what do you think?

In a different time, I could see him singing it on Parkinson with Parky, gamely & awkwardly, accompanying him whilst stood by the piano.

 

I vote for the Johnny Cash classic Ring of Fire, as a tribute to the half time catering and the lingering effect one enjoys after explosively ejecting it later in the evening.

We've had several attempts to replace Z-Cars and it's always failed and we've gone back to the original.

I think Gangster Paradise was the last time, but that was more because of the tragic death of Jimmy Davis.

Watford has very little in the way of tradition. Z-Cars is the only thing that takes me back to the 1980's. For me it represents those halcyon days, even though it's been used since 1964.

Not sure why we're so keen on ditching it again. Using another walkout tune will mean absolutely nothing to anyone, even if it's an Elton John song.

I'm gonna go against the flow , Eveton used z cars first we copied them , imo it would be good to have something individually ours , whether I'm still standing is it I don't know but at least given a few years any Elton track will be easily identifiable as us and us exclusively.

 

If we're going to go completely off the rails... We should go with "Life Sucks Then You Die" by the Fools.
