Wish him a speedy recovery. At least we have a chance to change things up now. Different formation maybe? Oh wait...

Forced Gracia’s hand into changing the team/system, I’m ok with this.

Or forced his hand into swapping Deeney for Okaka or Success and changing absolutely nothing else at all...

This is what I fear. 1 forced change means a reluctance to change anything else.

Managers like to be 2 steps behind the curve on making the right changes for some reason.

Maybe Welbeck and Okaka can do a half each - should manage that.

If one of Captain Talisman's best atributes is his passing, why then, has he got the worst pass completition rate of any outfield player?

    6-3-1 formation then?

One way to maximise the number of RBs we can use...

It was such an intelligent run, Captain Talisman was offside, rendering his poor effort meaningless. Albeit, it was incredible seeing him actually running past a defender, regardless of his timing.
Whilst, of his 37 goals in the PL, 35% have been penalties, none of which he won himself. He's a second division striker at best, and then, only if putting in a similar level of effort to his previous stint in that tier.

Because he attempts difficult flicks and set-ups in heavily defended areas instead of routine side-ways and diagonals out of defence?
I'm not trying to break my neck defending him, but these selective stats really don't us the whole story, do they?

    I agree.
His football intelligence on the pitch is actually among the best we have - it’s just the body in which he keeps that brain isn’t up to the standard of the players around him.

If you are happy with that, then fair enough, but he needs to improve on that if we want to challenge for a place in Europe. Obviously we need to start winning games, but 2 games, 0 goals is not a good start plus he's now laid off for a bit.

I would love him to get more but I'm not sure we have anybody that would or could get more. Going on this season stats is probably a little harsh. Lets see how his replacement gets on

It's hard to judge a player when he's playing when carrying an injury and you don't know that. The reasonable assumption is that the head coach would know if he's unfit, without the onus on Troy alone to identify that, and wouldn't be playing him in that condition given that he has a number of other options. So if Troy's been playing when he really shouldn't have been, then that's at least as much Javi's fault as his and would lend weight to the 'too big to drop' argument.

I remember a, couple of seasons or so back, giving Troy a bit of a hard time along 'too slow and past it lines' similar to the sort of stick he's getting on here now. Then he came back with a second wind. He'd had previous dips and troughs and resergences too.

I'd be happy to give him another chance this time when he's fully fit again. A 'third wind' if you like.

Selective? They are from a full season, when, according to some, he played quite well. As for the ludicrous notion, that he attempts harder passes, well, that truly beggars belief. Neither of your points though, deflect from my original comment, which, was aimed at the poster who said passing was one of his best attributes.

We already have the 'thinks he knows it all' poster who also supports a Spanish team quota filled. You aren't very good in comparison.

    Please try again.

Basque club. So, what is it that displeases you, the truth? Or, presumably, you're another sycophant incapable of reasoned discussion.

Bilbao is a Spanish city. In the Basque Country, sure. But in Spain all the same. You’re interpretation of that may be different but it’s not fact. It’s factual that Bilbao is in Spain. The truth can indeed be displeasing...
