I agree with you on most of these points. But where on earth is the bacon??

    I'd always want beans too.

They do do black pudding but it does resemble a hockey puck in both taste and looks.

you must be a goalie. They are the only people who eat the puck, usually garnished with teeth.

Egg and bacon is a fine combination. There's no denying that. But egg and bacon is a breakfast combo and no civilised or educated person would ever mix them with chips. Chips are not a breakfast item in my opinion. Nobody except a lush with no regard for the opinions of other would ever consider serving or eating chips before midday at the very earliest.

As for beans, well I take the point. Times are changing and I know that there are some liberal young folk who'll tolerate, or even encourage, a serving of beans with their egg and chips. It's not for me. I find the tomato sauce in which the beans float can overwhelm the delicate flavours of the fried egg and soak into the chips, making them soggy, floppy and unsuitable for dipping into the egg yolk.

But each to his own. What they choose to do in the privacy of their own kitchen has nothing to do with me.

The plate needs careful planning, it's true. Stage 1 - The eggs must form a robust barrier to the bean sauce. Stage 2 - The egg should only be eaten in a carefully planned order to leave the inevitable sauce tsunami to the very last minute by which time most of the chips have been "rescued" through eating or moving to higher ground.

As an add on, 2 pieces for 75p, so not too bad value.

Funnily enough we were discussing this in Casa Kremlin just the other day. I have had cold baked beans served in a cheese salad and whilst initially appalled and outraged, actually found them quite tasty - especially the sauce mixed with the grated cheese.

I had blood sausage in Krakow a few years back, thinking it was going to be similar to black pudding you get in the UK - was the worst thing I ever ate. There was some creepy doll things as well which was odd.

Couldn't agree more, chips are not a breakfast food. The propensity for fried potatoes on breakfast menus over the past couple of decades has led to the virtual extinction of fried bread, it's criminal this has been allowed to get to this stage almost completely unnoticed, I personally blame Little Chef and the Olympic breakfast. If fried bread was an animal the WWF would be all over it.

For me beans are also not a breakfast food but I appreciate others may have more exotic tastes. However, they should never be served with a fried egg, runny yolk mixing with bean juice is just wrong.

    Black pudding is delicious.

Cold beans a distinctively different dish to hot beans. Also microwave v heat in a pan. Love 'em cold straight from the tin, can cope with heated in a pan but dislike microwaved....heinz only of course

Chips most certainly belong on a breakfast plate as does a great big helping of bubble. Runny egg on the chips and soaked into the bubble. Yum yum

As a millennial (weird breed that we are), I'm most likely to have breakfast food around lunchtime (thus chips seem as appropriate as black pudding). As an aside, I also eat cereal as a snack at all times of the day, so clearly don't follow typical meal convention.

Well cooked chips should dip perfectly into runny yolk without losing consistency. The beans struggle is a difficult one. Sometimes you can create food barriers to contain them, but if you want to play it safe, you can pour them into a small dish (I have a nut bowl), and then dip as appropriate.

Hash browns make an excellent substitute for chips, especially if you're less hungry.

I haven't really bought into avocado as a side - let alone the primary item in a meal - unlike many millennials. Nor do I have steak as breakfast food, unlike our yankee friends. Not sure about cold beans either... But (hot) beans, bacon, chips (and cereal!) I could eat at any time of the day.

Plate full of chips, beans lashed all over them, fried eggs on top of the beans (first task once you've picked up your knife and fork: burst those yolks). 3 Sausages and 3 bacon on the flanks. Grilled tomatoes optional, but advised if you're on a diet and need to hit your 5 a day. 4 buttered slices of WHITE toast on a side plate. Tea (if you're working class) or coffee (if you're aristocratic) for lube.

    Breakfast of champions.

    Never liked palace.

    Never will

Croydon is a **** hole. As is south London
The spoons there smells of piss
The seats at their ground are so small that Paul Daniels would struggle to sit down and not graze his knees

They always seem to **** us over
Zaha is a diving little ****

Beating them is always a rare thing of beauty but we won’t.

Egg, Bacon, sausage, fried egg(s), mushroom, black pudding, and the item you all seem to have forgotten, lovely golden crispy fried bread.
You can add tomato, fried or canned, and bubble, all those are good. But beans for breakfast, WHY?

I think we're going to exorcise all our demons this season. We had a ***** record against burnley and put them to the sword. The same will happen with palace. Only problem is it means we'll lose to bournemouth.

    guess who?

Watford v Crystal Palace (Sunday from 12.30pm live on Sky Sports Premier League)
Watford have had a couple very good results, as they did last season before fizzling out.

This is a tough one to predict, because Palace do have a bit about them. They sat 10 behind the ball against Liverpool and hoped Zaha would do something special. But I think they'll win this game.

Sure his employers will love Merson basically saying it will be a rubbish game between 2 average sides with the odd moment of quality on the pitch.

Not sure Palace did sit back from the parts I saw.

Uncharacteristically, I popped over their Holmesdale forum.

Oddly, there didn't appear to be a thread on the match - maybe they are as world weary of the Watford Experience as we are of them - & each poster has a little flag to highlight their nationality.

I searched in vain for Italians, Macedonians, Filipinos.

It was a wall of St George's flags, giving the air of an English Defence League rally.

Cold beans out of the tin - a very cheap and healthy (student/OAP) meal.
Baked beans in traditional English breakfast sausage bacon fried egg fry up - delicious, especially with fried bread.
Microwaved baked beans - no no and thrice no.

Beanz beanz are good for the heart,
The more u eat the more u fart.
The more u fart the better u feel,
