Giraldi has his eye in Bruno. After Saturday's performance he ticks all the Pozzo boxes.

    Old? Check.
    Slow? Check.
Tendency to be a liability? Check.
Get him in, resign Gabriel Tamas and start them with Holebas and Britos.

But why would Foster invent a flying car when the big money now is in self driving?

Add Ben Stokes & that back line would be positively homicidal.

Also can also add injury prone and reluctantly prepared to accept a 5 year contract.

We have to accept that we will always be
    "........... the likes of Watford."

Usually preceded by "We lost today but we just had an off day and played rubbish, and we should never be losing to...... "

Long may we be the underestimated relegation fodder underdogs and I look forward to many oppo fans repeating this mantra this season.

Who exactly are the likes of Watford?

If comfortably retaining PL status every season without seriously threatening the European places is the criteria , there's quite a few teams to choose from - and all would be disappointed not to beat the likes of BHA..

Relieved we managed to beat the likes of Brighton, would’ve been the most embarrassing moment of the season if we lost to them.

The article told it as it was, much better than some hacks saying how unlucky they were (not saying that any were stupid enough to do that)

I thought the author, with his discursive style, could do a job on this forum.

We haven’t addressed Tolstoy for a long time.

Thought Russia had a decent World Cup but not enough to warrant further conversation.

As Ant and Dec might have said about the women’s World Cup “ Wor Ann D Piece played well but not a patch on Anna Karina “

    An interesting thought.

Why should the World's Best Scouting Network TM restrict itself to football?

Dead novelists are probably at the Zeegelaar end of the spectrum but what about pre pubescent South American authors?

Show a literary flourish redolent of Gabrial Garcia Marquez & Pozzo Inc will have you lined up for Random House.

It's about the only Prem report which merits the Architecture column.

It would be great if the report could be read out, preferably in the style of Sean D.

I would volunteer except that my throaty accent doesn't go beyond Johnny Vegas.

Btw, true story, I saw JV in the Richmond Waitrose a while ago.

He was in basket rather than trolley mode &, perfectly, it contained only chocolate & crisps. When our eyes met, he looked guilty but in '**** you' way.

My son saw him outside the local last night.

On the architectural theme, a shout out to a local kid made good.

Dame Zaha Hadid, larger than life, award winning architect, went to Berko School for Girls.

    That can be taught.

The Ben Foster centric randomness, though, is pure instinct.

What the ****, I went to Berko and I never knew that, that's a bit mental; she's instantly right up there on the list of most esteemed alumni ever, I'm very surprised they don't make more of that. I used to look at our notable alumni on wikipedia and it was mostly eking something out of former Member of Parliament Michael Meacher, Elon Musk-divorcer Talulah Riley and 'History Boys' star Stephen Campbell Moore... (Clementine Churchill was probably up there as well).

I believe it was a brief & potentially ill starred venture. She came from a wealthy Iraqi family & was farmed out to various boarding schools.

Of a more recent vintage is Sarah Brightman, leader of sexy dance troop Hot Gossip, one time wife of Lloyd Webber & now the world’s best selling soprano.

    Not short of self confidence.
