This thread is just ridiculous, anyone reading it will think we is a right load of muppets!

You all need to wind your necks in. This is a football forum, not some sort of social club for a bunch of window lickers.

Lets hope the gaffer sticks to 4312

A bit of a tangent, but when I was in Kenya my guide insisted on riding around everywhere on the back of a zebra. Even very short distances when it would have been more practical to walk. I'm unsure if he ever attempted dressage however. The zebra seemed too unruly for that nonsense.

this goes into greater detail. but it seems his greatest climb is from 250m to 600m (with a total ascent of 2766 feet (843 metres; fig 2)). i can't talk for enthusiasts who do the amateur tour de france things, but for users like myself, flip flops and rusted bikes that your neighbours don't want anymore work fine!

    from his n=1 study
"Though a 30% reduction in bicycle weight may seem large, the reduction in total weight (bicycle + rider) of 4% is much less impressive. The effect this weight reduction has on the forces acting against the cyclist (gravity, friction (rolling resistance), drag (wind resistance), and the force to accelerate bicycle and rider), as well as the effect of the road conditions, need to be considered."

As I said, for regular use it makes barely any difference. However, on an event like L'Etape or the Marmotte, there are several climbs like the Mont Ventoux or Galibier or Izoard which may be 1500m verticle or more, with an average gradient of 8%; Mont Ventoux has a section of about 12km at a steady 10%. It is possible to do it on a regular bike - but for stuff like this you appreciate even the most marginal assistance. I did the etape in 2004 which was 237km with 4 or 5 big climbs. (thats in one go with a 10 hour time limit btw!)

    For the other extreme:

The next one should be music tastes.

Some of the posters on here must listen to Nickelback. This is not cool. At all.

Surely then, the best way to win a bicycle race is to have a small child as a rider or even no one at all ?

    Sorry, I started it.

Let’s all get back to naming what starting XI we think we’ll start with....

But a word in your ear. Not liking a sport and having your own reasons why, doesn’t make you ignorant.

I once put my wife’s knickers on once. Although I would say that was more through interest rather than difficulty. Oh ‘dressage’....

No "offence mate", but i think I do :). Any why are they called stupid names like "Billy comes last" "Brexit means Brexit" "Arakel loves Relegation certs" or "Tesco minced beef and onion" ? They should all be called Trigger, Dobbin, proper horse names

    3-1 Watford.

Love Snooker! Hate Golf, I can sit there and watch any sport but Golf just gets on my nerves.

A lot of the Olympic fake sports annoy me too, archery ffs..

3-0 to Watford, with 2 goals for Luther and one for Taylor. Oh, hang on - wrong year.

One apiece for Gray, Okaka and Deeney - but not necessarily in that order.

I hate synchronised swimming - watching legs wave around above the surface simply makes me wonder what's going on below the surface & makes me lose concentration as my imagination takes over. Not that any is really needed anyway.

    Neigh.

    Are you?

I know you think you do.

The point is you really don't.

Go take a dressage course, then come and tell me about how it's all the horse. It takes a lot of practice, training, skill, discipline and body strength.

Those are show names, exactly like purebred dogs have. Registered names reflect bloodlines.

Outside of the show ring they all go by normal pet names.

PS: who told you I love Relegation Certs? That was supposed to be a secret.... :(

I don't think that is going to happen. I will happily stick to my ill-conceived perception.

Blindingly obvious. We've all known for ages. Just like I love IBB, .......whereas Burnsy and Tonycotonstache are I believe officially an item.

Statistically 20-30% of people cross dress at some point in their lives. I think we have about 5000 members of this forum, that's basically more than 1000 of you sitting around in silky knickers - pervs

It’s not all silky stuff you know. There’s crotchless, hold-it-all ins, thongs, rubber and don’t forget the nappy wearers. There’s bound to be loads of alternative dressers on here and only 3 women!

As for music, some of you must have loved that irritating Whigfield track in the early nineties, sad sad people

And waddling around the golf course on a Friday afternoon before consuming a few G&Ts in the 19th hole does not keep you fit.

Prediction: Foster to be grabbing a couple of orange balls from his onion bag on Saturday

I think we can all agree that we’ve hit the heights of forum life when one person challenges another to ‘go take a dressage course’ all in the name of being correct in an argument about whether dancing horses are stupid whilst on a thread about a game of football that happens in 3 days that includes Pardew and that stain McClean.

I’m proud of all of you and all your efforts. Even if we are all wearing frilly undergarments...APPARENTLY.

I'm usually pretty cynical with my predictions, but this match will be so easy that no amount of Deeney own goals can stop us winning!

    Watford 5-4 West Brom
    Deeney (21, 62), Richarlison (38), Capoue (74), Pereyra (89); Deeney (og 90, 90+2, 90+3, 90+6)

    Totally agree

But what really pisses me off is when someone takes a perfectly good song , slows it down , sticks a mournful female vocal on and claim it’s moody - I knew it had gone to far when I heard sweet child of mine at 1/3 speed
