Guessing too many people trying to start threads and post at same time, caused some kind of issues. Brilliant insight from me there, a guy with almost zero technological expertise

Absolutely pathetic transfer window. Honestly don't see how anyone can defend us not strengthening up front and at centre back. Genuinely believe we are going down this season.

Perhaps the Pozzo's think that because they voted against the early window closure that it doesn't apply to Watford? Someone had better give them a call...

Literally the two main positions we needed fixing. We all knew this at the beginning of Summer and nothing has been done to strengthen these areas.

    Really bizarre.

Yep. I can't believe we're not reinvesting some of the Richarlison money in a new striker so we're relying on Deeney, Gray and Okaka

Maybe we should sign Kwasi Sibo - a 20 year old Ghanaian defensive midfielder from erm, FC Banants Yerevan.

Well I believe it started on a positive note but is ending on a sour note.
I believe as fans it's difficult to believe any media speculation these days which doesn't help us at all.

Gonna be a lot more difficult to re-invest it if we're in the bottom 3 in January.

€16.5m bid rejected by Nantes for forward Emiliano Sala.

Oh and Burnley are favourite to sign Ward-Prowse because unlike us, they're prepared to buy him outright

Possibly the greatest highlights video i've ever seen :

No chance of a work permit though is there? He'll be off on loan if he is signing

Social media is split on Livermore.

The vast majority of people are laughing at us, the rest are Watford fans reminding us of previous bad owners.

    Sums it up really.

If we finish the day having signed only Jake Livermore, then the lingering doubt I have about not renewing my season ticket will be fully extinguished.

I don't rate him, but if it's just a 6 month loan to cover for Clev then that's OK

He would be a like for like replacement for Deeney albeit with a little more finesse in the final third. However he never seems to flow with the ball although he pops up in the right place at the right time and relies an awful lot on power versus placement. If we can get a forward in we still have a very decent squad going forward. A little bit of continuity in the squad will do wonders for team cohesion and several youngsters that can be bled in like Dahlberg, Wilmot and Cucho next season all with very promising futures. Keeping Pereyra is a must though. Him, Doucoure and Hughes provide most of the creativity in the squad.

Livermore is dreadful. Pereyra to go too ? Could this window get any worse ??

EDIT - Hooray, one finally got through !!!!

Agreed - it would be shocking neglect of the highest order. Maybe the Pozzos are suffering with a cashflow issues across all their business interests ? It seems bizarre we would be so reluctant to spend on Dawson, Ward-P, any strikers, any CDs this week. I don't understand the strategy at all.

Or driving a hard bargain. However given the gap between the PL and European league transfer windows closing perhaps European clubs feel they can drive up the price for players that PL clubs want while knowing that if the PL club does not buy there are other suitors still left. Who knows what Gino has planned although it would be most surprising if we still don't have a few irons in the fire and are still negotiating on some players. Hopefully by five o'clock we will have seen the addition of 2-3 players. If we do not it is not the end of the world. A good coach with a fairly strong squad can still succeed in this division as Dyche has shown year in and out.

You two are so ungrateful! Short memories! We’d be the Vauxhall Conference if it wasn’t for Gino!!! Remember, Prodl was player of the Season 2 years ago! Sam Allardyce didn’t give Jake Livermore an England cap for no reason!!!

I don't think they'd be employing two new youth coaches (Tony Parks & Omer Riza) this week and a head of youth coaching (Darren Sarll) over the summer if they were looking to sell.

Yep sounds good. Drive a really hard bargain, refuse to pay market price for anyone, sign no-one, them blame the coach if results aren't great as a good coach should be able to keep us up with our "strong squad".

I too would like to see us sign a forward and another central defender to provide squad depth and quality. At full strength we can compete with most teams in this division if the players are on top of their game. The issue is if injuries strike we will be left a little exposed in both areas. However on the other hand I would not like to see us end up like Sunderland or Aston Villa with the owners mortgaging the future of the club on one or two players who may turn out to be nothing more than white elephants. We had enough of that experience under Luca Diablo.

The window closing early is really cramping our style.

Usually we say: 'well we're the only club in for you, so it's us or the reserves'. We can't pin players into the corner and bully them into joining us against their will, when they have any other option across the top leagues of Europe as a possibility.

I imagine European clubs have been sure to tell every potential signing that they are interested and to hold out, so they get the pick of the remaining transfers without English competition. That's what I'd do... The swiping right to everyone on Tinder approach.
