I've always been a big fan of the Jesus and Mary Chain, My Bloody Valentine, Curve and other bands with loads of feedback, which may be why I'm OK with it.

‘Calling someone out’ instead of ‘challenging’ them – I have noticed the insidious creep of this hideous Americanism into our everyday vocabulary, to the point where even the BBC is now using it:

“Last week at a meeting of NATO foreign ministers, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo called Russia out. Moscow, he insisted, had been breaching an important Cold War-era disarmament agreement - the Intermediate Range Nuclear Forces (INF) Treaty.”

Yes ! Its xmas jumper day today at work. **** that. I gave the slightly more polite excuse that i didn't have one and was told that i could just pop down the road and get a cheap one now for all the office photos that will be whatsapped round the world. I explained that I had been given one before but had set fire to it and thrown it away as it was such a ******* stupid idea and waste of someone's money.

In a covenience store (i.e. McColls in Tolpits Lane), people (ok, mainly women) who take their stuff to the checkout, then a 5 minute search through their handbag to find their purse, when they've been standing in a queue for several minutes

People (men and women this time), who ask the cashiers to check 2 months worth of crumpled lottery tickets that won't go through the machine to see if they've won but don't actually buy anything...again in McColls, Tolpits Lane.

People who chose to do their weekly shopping at the BP garage in Mill End...if they want M&S stuff, travel half a mile into Rickmansworth, where there's a huge M&S and let me just pay for my fuel and get on the road.

I think you should be complaining about M&S piggy-backing on a petrol station to enhance their business, rather than the people who buy things from them.

A rotund woman in my team (who is approaching 50, lives with only her cat and seems to have no life outside work) sent an email this week demanding £20 each from myself and the other 5 team managers for Christmas decorations in the office. Apparently it's really important for the team and there's a competition for the best decorated department, so numerous people are going all out to crawl up the director's ar$e, who is judging it.

I replied saying that I would be spending that £20 on my kids' Christmas presents, rather than decorations.

Christmas decorations have no place in the workplace. I would suggest to her that any decorations increase fire hazard and that you would be unhappy if the tinsel wasn't sprayed with fire retardant first. Then suggest that whoever puts them up has to take a 6-week course in "standing on ladders" before such a risky attempt is made to hang the stuff up.

Well maybe this should be in things I like...

Ordered an Amazon Echo on Tuesday, turned up Wednesday, hidden away, all is good. Cost me £89.99.
Took a quick look on Amazon tonight and it's £30 cheaper! Special deal of the day. F*** that.

Live chat instantly refunded me but I have to return this one and order a new one. I said why not just refund the difference but apparently that's not possible. Anyway, £30 saved in a few minutes, I'll take that.

Just seen an HBO preview of Brexit. The new drama out in January starring Benedict C & it looks quite ridiculous.

Yeah, that was strange. It was £54.99 a few weeks ago, as I bought one. Then it went up to £89.99 for a week or so, and has now come back down.

    Quite impressed with it TBH.

Films and shows with noisy eating scenes. I know you are at a restaurant, I can see that. I don’t need to hear the effect of you scoffing down your nose bag like a dog, or eating an apple, or chewing gum. I don’t need to hear the result of this action in glorious Dolby 5.1 either. I doesn’t add realism. It annoys me. If you actually did this in my presence I would walk away. Did your mother never tell you not to speak with your mouth full? Etiquette, please.

The same goes for squelchy, slurpy kissing scenes too (I don’t mean pornos, you filthy lot!)

Doesn't matter for pornos as they are frequently watched on mute.
