Wouldn't fancy us having to play Cardiff if we both get into the play-offs, exactly the type of team we don't do well against.

Apparently 169 people predicted 4-1 on Sky’s Super 6..
All of them Watford supporters ... :D

What a weekend for us, and for Norwich too. Before Christmas, my prediction for the top 2 was Norwich and Swansea but if there's one league that you just cannot predict (Jobi McAnuff said this on Sky) it's the Championship. You would think Norwich will not be caught but who knows what on earth will happen between now and May

Swansea, Reading, Bournemouth and Brentford all being beaten, and Luton lost as well. Happy days

That's promotion sorted then. Never in doubt if I'm being honest, I stuck by Xisco and he hasn't let me down.

What a pleasant weekend this one has turned out to be.

In all seriousness, we know there will be weekends when things will invariably go against us, and we still need some more big favours... but this weekend has helped!

I still envisage needing another 10-11 wins from the remaining 15 to be in with a shout of the automatic places, which is a tall order... but nature of the beast after dropping so many poor points earlier in the season.

Like my Saturday routine - pre Covid. Pub at 1pm, few pints, watch game, quick beer afterwards. Friday always hectic and if you lose ruins weekend

A 51% chance of promotion is not bad.

I remember that site consistently predicting we wouldn’t get relegated last season.

And we wouldn't of had Villa not got so many dodgy decisions go their way in the closing weeks

It’s never predicted we wouldn’t be relegated. It just correctly pointed out there was a point when the odds were very much in our favour... and we contrived, along with our rivals picking up form, to **** it up.

Sport is about uncertainty, otherwise it's pointless. That's why the Championship is so much more enjoyable (well, and that we win more games). It's almost impossible to predict the three teams that get promoted and the three relegated each season.

One of our better weekends regarding the result.
I will look forward to picking up the EFL tonight on Quest, weather permitting.

Yeah of course, it's crap when you're floating about in 16th place! Although I do love a good relegation escape...

Although admittedly there’s a way to go, the current top 3 and bottom 3 are pretty much what I imagine most would have predicted on day 1.

Premier league is fixed. Villa bring in more revenue from overseas broadcasting. If they could get Burnley Fulham and whoever is the other least supported team out for 3 so called bigger clubs they’d probably scrap promotion relegation

Oh come off it, that is ridiculous. Are you saying Mariappa was bribed to score that comical own goal v Brighton then? Because If he hadn’t, Villa would have gone down instead of us.

Yeah, except they will be waiting a long time for the “big clubs” in the championship to come up. Derby, Forest, Sheff Weds won’t be going up anytime soon. Then Boro and Blackburn as the remaining two “big clubs” just seem to fall short. Boro now have a chance to make the play-offs though.

    Have. :)

It’s always much easier to blame others than to accept one’s own failings....

Don’t you think the “invincible Liverpool” narrative would have appealed to the PL too?

Remember all that talk of an extra game played in the USA? Ok Liverpool v Man U in California and Arsenal v Chelsea in Miami would fill stadiums even Villa v Everton in New York fills a stadium. Burnley v Watford Fulham v Norwich be lucky if they got on the tele.

I'm still very angry Villa got all those decisions. Dirty stinky FA! Costing plucky Bournemouth their place in the league. Bastards.

Of course they can’t fix it all. If they could they would. But you can’t argue that most decisions go for the so called bigger clubs.

    I don’t disagree with that.

Mind you, Brentford v Palace probably wouldn’t pack ‘em in either...

Next 7 games before the international break. 8 for Swansea.

    Watford

    Blackburn (a)
    Bmuff (a)
    Wycombe (h)
    Forest (h)
    Cardiff (a)
    Rotherham (a)
    Birmingham (h)

    Norwich

    Birmingham (a)
    Wycombe (a)
    Brentford (h)
    Luton (h)
    Sheff Weds (a)
    Forest (a)
    Blackburn (h)

    Swansea

    Coventry (h)
    Bristol City (h)
    Stoke (a)
    Boro (h)
    Blackburn (a)
    Luton (a)
    Bmuff (a)
    Cardiff (h)

    Brentford

    Sheff Weds (h)
    Stoke (h)
    Norwich (a)
    Rotherham (h)
    Blackburn (a)
    Derby (a)
    Forest (h)

Looking at those fixtures, on paper, Norwich by far have the easiest run in. Swansea the hardest. Important for us to not drop silly points. If we can beat Blackburn and Bmuff, which we are more than capable of doing, then that will really put the pressure on Brentford and Swansea. Hopefully we keep a focused and concentrated mindset. We’ve done so well to get back into the mix, can’t rest on our laurels now. Next 2 games are season defining. Also the 5 games after that.

I don’t disagree. But I think that is psychology, not corruption. Incidentally, I wonder if the big clubs are getting so many decisions this season, without fans?

Surely if the PL was fixed we would have been relegated seasons earlier...?

Yes, I’d buy that. Although I still don’t think it is conscious bias.
