Fans in the away end arguing with the Watford players at the end. Stewards involved, Holebas having to be pulled away

Totally agree. The very nature of the book demanded a low fi approach.

I don't see a single solution with the fit players we currently have, which is highly depressing because that means accepting defeat before kick off till Hughes and Chalobah are back and I don't think even they know when they're back?

Buy players or we're going down, it's a simple equation.

If I were the owners I wouldn’t be gambling with our league status and I’d be buying a few players next week. When all our injured players come back we’ll be a different proposition but if we lose 3 or 4 more league games between now and then we’ll be right in the brown stuff.

Wasn’t too fussed about today but it must be said this Watford team are making it easy to fall out of love with the game at the moment. Literally not one highlight. I appreciate we have a nightmare injury scenario - but the players that aren’t still have to be professional enough to give 100% and battle. Genuinely awful.

That was as meek as I’ve seen any team in some-time. We just rolled over and let a very poor Southampton team take the win.

Not one player looks like they want to play for the club at the moment.

Ok first up can I say thank you to everyone who was in the Shout Box today. Game was god awful and some of the banter kept it worth sitting through. Deeney working at Burger King was a personal high point.

As for the match, well there isn't really much to say. It was wet, miserable and pretty much a copy of our season. Changing the guy at the top cannot change the fact we have a team of talented individuals who just cannot play as a team. Thanks to nisman94's commentary it was pretty clear the game was over when the goal went in - we saw glimpses of quality on half chances but nothing to really shout about. It's the cup at the end of the day and we don't really need it this season.

Stoke is going to be our GOTS so far - lose that, which we may well do on current performances, and it's looking closer to going to the City Ground next season.
Oh and Malts, sorry for the name thing - my iPhone auto correct is awful.

If we make the right signings, and get the likes of Hughes, Chalobah etc. back ASAP, we will be absolutely fine.

If we sign the current dross we're linked with, and we don't find some form again once our injured players come back, we will go down.

Pretty much as everybody else is calling it - either the injured players come back very soon (as in 2 weeks max); we bring in quality additions within the next few days - or we will be relegated. Southampton's first win since forever ago - and that would be two wins for them had we not enjoyed a huge slice of fortune in the last game.

If I was Scott or Gino, I'd want new faces in before Wednesday. I can only see a Stoke win otherwise. Not blaming the new coach - he's going to war with water pistols. When you're forced to bring on Sinclair to rescue a game, you know you're in trouble.

Ben Watson, Adrian Mariappa, Etienne Capoue & Jose Holebas should be nowhere near the first team.

Daryl Janmaat, Stefano Okaka, Andre Gray & Andre Carrillo should be rotation options.

The fact they're all in line to get game time in a vital game against Stoke on Wednesday says it all about the huge mess we're currently in.

Looking at the videos on Twitter and hearing first hand about the scenes, the fans should be ******* ashamed of themselves.

Watson has got an excuse in that he is probably playing to his maximum, but he’s not all that. Capoue on the other hand is very talented but can’t be bothered

I agree, Watson has a bit of backbone, Capoue, Carrillo, Holebas and Pereyra don’t.

In regard to the tweet HB1 posted, I do not mind the fans having a go at the players for such a poor performance/run of form of late but the swearing is not needed. Clapping the fans and showing they care about our support is one thing I am glad the team feel the need to do - regardless of the result. If fans have a vocal view they wish to express there are other ways to do so other than toilet language.

    Do tell?

If the abuse was personal, then that’s not on. If it passionate anger at the level of performance, then it’s totally understandable. Some of them need telling.

TBF we're only 6 points from relegation. It's a shame that a piece of history such as the cup has been dropped by so many in the PL.

I think it's the last straw for the fans. We've been dreadful for so long and now today's performance with a new coach showed absolutely no uplift. It's a huge worry.

Gracia has a huge job on his hands. We have to do something in the transfer market as this side is nowhere near capable of keeping us safe and by the time the injured get back it will be too late.

Players should not get involved. If fans are being abusive then just walk away. To try and start something with fans is only going to go one way.

This is probably the worst period since the Pozzo's took over the club and the vibe around the club is toxic.

Couple of mates went, said the fans were abysmal. The usual cup day trippers, booing the players and manager in his FIRST game in charge, playing a new system.

The usual half cut, wannabe hard men giving it a lot and of verbal from the safety of their seat behind stewards.

If I wanted anyone to get a kicking it's them not Holebas or Kabasele, both of which could have just ****ed off down the tunnel but made the effort to go to the fans.

We'll take about 600 to Stoke who will offer far more support than a load of the ***** there today.

It's not often we're vocally abusing the players and staff to this level after a game, particularly when they come over afterwards. I was sitting high up. From what I saw, Kabasele was the first to come over, clapping with a mixed reception from us. He was patting the badge obviously saying along the lines of we give a **** and the other players starred to catch up. Holebas started clapping but someone in the front really got under his skin and he looked like he unleashed both barrels. The other 8 or so players were cautiously clapping keeping their distance while Doucoure and Watson pulled Holebas away.
