Did we beat them?- Lesta the old rivals.

The Vic Road end looks so much smaller in that pic when I remember a heaving mass of yellow humanity. Although I was mainly in the Rookery.
The good ol days when could move around the ground for each half :)

I'm almost certainly somewhere in that shot, but don't ask me where.

Reassuringly, fashion has pretty much stayed the same since those days.

Question is if he wasn't selling programmes, who was?

Didn't go to all games back then but enough to know there's a 80% chance I'm somewhere around there:

Remember the surges after a goal! Pretty good being up there as a young lad seeing 10,000 people converge into the front third of that stand and following safely behind for the bundle.

Unlucky if you were standing against one of the few leaning bars and got trapped there of course!

I remember that game, I was in the old east stand with my dad that day. Think both us and Leicester were languishing near the bottom of the old division two back then. Wilko got the only goal if I remember correctly

Family stand. £1.50 a ticket. Or the upgrade to a seat in the family block for double the price. Those were the days.

At the far end of the scoreboard, it says '12'.
As I remember it, this indicated how many minutes of the match had gone.
From the number of people reading their programmes, this wasn't an exciting game.

I’m there - front, middle. There was nearly always plenty of room there in those grim days.

No you couldn't - that's what that yellow gate is for. You have to go a lot further back for those days.

Grim? .... Where were you in the seventies? Now that was grim!

I was working away exactly then (the Leicester game) and had to travel to Munich Hauptbahnhof to get our results as the only English language papers Augsburg station ever seemed to stock were USA Today and the Washington Post.

The seventies started off with us in the old second division, which we were always fighting relegation followed by two relegations to the bottom division followed by two promotions back to the old second division, some very grim days until Sir G.T. came and the tide turned forever!

No , certain the peanut seller was somone else... he had a 'nasal ' tone to his 'peanuts'. Didn't he wear a brown 'store-mans 'coat ? Certain I saw him in the Highbury Clockend as well ?,

Was this the season we stayed up on the final day at Oxford (or certainly final away game) winning 1-0?

I remember seeing the terrace when I first started going in 1992 but didn't last much longer don't think...
